A glorious celebration of black cats
I've always found black cats to be delightful companion animals and I know that many other humans have too. But sadly, they are adopted at lower rates than cats of other colors. In Black Cats Tell All, Layla Morgan Wilde gathered, edited, and wrote the stories and records of many melanistic domestic cats and the ways they connected with humans to become household mini-panthers. Through skillful storytelling, sometimes in the "voice" of the cats themselves, and stunning photographs, we learn the histories of black kitties from many differing locations who have entered not only homes, but hearts. Each pairing of human and cat is different, and each cat displays its own individuality. These narrations help to dispel the myths about black cats and bad luck; they illustrate that all cats make beautiful and affectionate companion animals for their humans who rescue, adopt, or just accept the cats at the door. Cats and humans love each other and that is good fortune indeed! The writing and photography in this book make it a real treat for those of us who feel that of all the beautiful cats, black cats are just a little extra beautiful!Highly recommended!

You'll laugh. You'll cry. Then you'll want your very own housepanther.
You might think I'm biased and love this book because the housepanther that rescued me is a featured pawthor. However, given the fact she's an L.A. kitty now and therefore a Dodgers fan, yet had to share the spotlight in this book with the housepanther that owns a S.F. Giants player, well, that bias has been negated. (For the record, NO, I get nothing from being a contributor, aside from seeing my gorgeous housepanther's likeness in a book. Trust me, that's the pawsomest "payment", especially if it helps other black cats get rescued.)Look, this is plainly and simply a pawsome collection of true tails (sorry, couldn't resist) of furbulous black cats and the humans that have been lucky enough to be rescued by them. You will laugh. You will LOL even. You will cry. In fact, Kleenex ought to have been a sponsor of this book. You might get more than a little ticked off. As well you should, after reading about some of the near-death experiences of many of these kitties...solely because of the color of their fur.Did you know black cats (and dogs) have the LOWEST adoption rate in "shelters", and therefore the HIGHEST chance of getting euthanized?!? That's CRAY, isn't it? I mean, just lookit these beautiful little panthers!Yet, after getting rightfully ticked off, you're gonna LOL again after seeing rescued Rufus from Germany's pictures of "catching" dinner, and you're gonna reach for yet another Kleenex when reading Smoky's sad but happy but sad but happy Thanksgiving story.Point is, Layla has created something magical here. Even more magical is that the profits are going to rescue organizations like Milo's Sanctuary in CA. They rescue the worst of the worst off kitties, like blind, deaf, FIV+ ones...Hit "Add To Cart" already. I promise you nothing but warm fuzzies in return, especially since this book will turn YOU into an ambassador for black cats and rescued cats in general.Ummm, don't forget to buy some Kleenex, too.
