Smell of leather
this notebook needs a large pocket or handbag, but don't let that put you off. When you first unpack it from its card box and then the cellophane bag, it smells a little bit like a PU leather item, but after a few hours the smell changes to a rather luxurious, supple leather aroma, and let's not forget the tactile sensation. The paper for the notebooks is of good quality, accepting a nibbed pen without snagging, bleeding or blotting. It is also a nice surface for sketching on too. The journal also comes with soft plastic leaves, one of which is a non-toothed zip bag; I have put my pen and pencils in mine, but could be used for family photos, receipts, or anything you need to keep that isn't bulky. The other three leaves will hold six credit cards, (or similar sized objects) EACH, so those all important business cards are readily to hand and easily read without the need to remove them. All in all, I feel that this journal is extremely good value for money, and the added bonus is that it is re-fillable. Highly recommended.

A good buy. So good a colleague asked for my first purchase and I have just bought my second one.
Some of comment about the quality of the leather. It is PU leather not full thickness heavy duty leather and is priced accordingly. The sellers description I found to be fair and accurate, the price was very competitive and the journal and cover exceeded expectations. It certainly has a smart vintage look and is everything I wanted and more. I will be going back to the seller in future to buy more inserts after I complete the ones that came with the journal. Overall good product, well thought out, smart and appears to be hard wearing. Delivered on time at a good price point. A very happy customer.

Great product and quality. But depending on the type of use, a spiral/wire-bound would have been better
I can't complain about the product, as it has great quality. So here are my considerations:-I knew about the size, so the fact that it is smaller than a common notebook was expected.-Great material quality!-Beautiful!-Great product to use as a daily journal, or as a general note.-Already knew about the fact that this isn't a spiral/wire-bound notebook, but didn't realise that because of the slightly smaller size it would become more difficult to write comfortably since it doesn't open perfectly/completely (without a spiral), so wasn't able to write well until the edge/limit of each page. I consider my hand to be of an average male size. So, that was a bummer.

Love, love, love!!
I rarely leave comments, but I wanted to say I absolutely love, love, love this product!!I searched everywhere, youtube etc for a review of this, and I just couldn't find one, so I wanted to leave it here. The leather is gorgeous, and really smells like leather, it is a warm brown and very soft, I think it will age well.If you are look at this and wanting to know how it compares to a midori, which I was tempted by, but wanted to see if this would work for me - it is great. I think the midori is slightly taller, and therefore you will need to think about inserts that match, but I spoke with the seller and they are going to link the inserts to this post. Also if you want to know about the elastic, it comes with 1 elastic attached to the cover, and 1 that comes with the 2 books (one craft paper, one thick plain paper) You don't need to stress too much about buying more elastics, I watched a lot of tutorials, and to be honest I have managed 4 books in mine, by using an elastic band.it also comes with a nice card holder (2 sets actually) and a zip pocket. I am using one set in my filofax as I felt 2 was too much. But a nice bonus. If you want a downside, I will give you 2. Firstly their is no pen holder, but you can either make one yourself, or you can buy one on amazon. The second is as someone else has mentioned the books do move around a little. I find if you pull the elastic that joins the cover it helps, but honestly it doesn't bother me too much, as I think it just gives it character. So I love this product, and for the price compared to a midori - I would say purchase this.

Everything is fine, the paper quality is good but when it ...
Everything is fine, the paper quality is good but when it arrived, the plastic band thing left a permanent impression into the leather cover, the zip lock thing permanently bended small part of the plastic too

This Amazon choice in leather journals is plastic.
If you ignore the title of the product, the Amazon approval flag, the first bunch of reviews and just read the small print and finally the note that has been added to the very end of the description you might twig the error before you order. The texture is printed on plastic not even a PU Leather. So much like this 5 star review it is not what it seems.Leather marks :Legal Definition, BS 2780 DefinitionIn the UK a definition of leather is set out in the British Standard Glossary of Leather Terms (BS 2780) and this definition is used as a guide in applying consumer protection legislation such as the Sale of Goods Act and the Trade Descriptions Act.In short, if a product is made from reconstituted leather fibres or if the surface coating is too thick then it cannot be sold as 'leather'.Hide or skin with its original fibrous structure more or less intact, tanned to be imputrescible. The hair or wool may or may not have been removed. It is also made from a hide or skin that has been split into layers or segmented either before or after tanning.Note 1: If the leather has a surface coating, the mean thickness of this surface layer, however applied, has to be 0.15mm or less.Note 2: If the tanned hide or skin is disintegrated mechanically and/or chemically into fibrous particles, small pieces or powder and then, with or without combination of a binding agent, is made into sheets or forms, such sheets are not leather.

Absolutely love this sketchbook
The leather on it is lovely and the pages are thick enough for what I need. Lovely sketchbook and just the right size.
