I bought two of these timer feeders for my cats when I go away for short periods. The ice packs are a great addition, however are very skinny so I am unsure if they actually keep the food chilled for anything longer than 2 hours (easily defrost at room temperature). The bowls are easy to remove and clean and sit ontop of the ice packs. The lid comes down and the timer is set to 0 before setting the timer count down ... which is any time from 0 to 48 hours. The timer then ticks along nicely until it reaches 0 and the lid springs open. The lid does not fit snugly down onto the bowl and when I first laid it I anticipated my cat to break into it to retrieve the food ... however this has still not happened so its working perfectly! I have had one occassion when neither side of the timer feeder opened, however I do wonder if that was the fault of the feeder or human error. A great piece of kit for people who go away at weekends!

I ordered this to replace an old CatMate dispenser which finally gave out after several years of use. This dispenser arrived quite quickly (I used Amazon Prime delivery) and is really straightforward to use. I've used this several times (including testing it before going away) and have had no problems with it opening on time. My two cats prefer dry food so I haven't used the freezer packs, but it is very easy to take apart and clean. They usually eat out of a twin bowl so don't have problems sharing a bowl, but you could also set the two bowls to go off at different times over 48 hours if you only have one cat, or have two cats who get too hangry to leave with only one meal each over 24 hours. I'm not a huge fan of the speckled white "pebble" effect pattern on the lids but that's just personal preference. The only thing to note is that it doesn't come with batteries, so make sure you have a couple of AA batteries to hand. When I'm not using mine I take the batteries out (as otherwise the timer keeps ticking even if it's not set) and store them with the freezer packs under the lids. Would recommend

I bought this as I’m a shift worker and I wanted to make sure my cat was getting fed on time if I was kept late. The packaging was reasonable for the product, and the directions for use were very clear. It’s a fairly simple concept - there is an internal food tray with space for an ice pack (included) underneath to maintain freshness. You fill the dish with food, close the lid and set the rotary timer. When it reaches 0, the lid opens to reveal the food. Having tested the product without issue, I’m fairly happy that it will achieve what I want however, there are a few things which I feel would need to be improved for a 5 star review. The unit takes 2xAA batteries (not included). I don’t understand why this is the case, as it appears that the timer dial works exactly the same way as my clockwork kitchen timer. Given that it can be set for up to 48 hours, I’m concerned that the batteries will fail and my cat will go hungry. As stated above, the rotary timer can be set for up to 48 hours in advance. When the timer reaches 0, a notch in the timer allows the lip of the spring-loaded lid to be released. Given the small size of the dials, it’s only accurate to +/- 30 mins or so. The bowls tick very loudly, even when the timer is not set. At night, this is very annoying. Overall, I’m pleased with the purchase however, room for improvement.

We bought this to use when we go away for a night. We took the advice in the paper instructions and fed our cat from the feeder, just as is, for a few days to get her used to it, before trying to use the timed function. She took to it quickly and was quite happy to use it. As she has three meals per day, this gives us the opportunity to give her a meal just as we leave and then put two more meals in the timer. We have only tended to use the feeder for dry food, although two freezer packs come with the feeder to keep wet food fresh. Although you need to use batteries - one for each section - the timer function is more of a clockwork arrangement and a small, low ticking sound accompanies this. Imagine one of those old fashioned kitchen timers, reasonably accurate, within 15 minutes or so. Recently we went away for two weeks and, instead of putting our cat in the cattery, a friend came in once a day to check on her and feed her. The timed feeder came into it's own, meaning that our friend could give her a pouch and then leave two dry meals in the feeder. It worked very well, batteries lasted (we had left spares just in case) and our carer found it easy to use. Would recommend.

It is a shame as I thought that this food dispenser would be suitable to use for feeding our cats when we are away for most of the day. We can feed our three cats in the morning but a day trip to see our children means that we are not back home until midnight.This would be ideal to feed them evening tea. I bought two as have three cats and double dispensers mean that there was one dish free. However, we have been disappointed as these devices are poorly made and have not once worked properly. The most recent saw only one opening the other two remained firmly shut. The problem is two fold. First the battery holder is badly made and as a result the battery appears to be correctly in place but the connection is properly made. The second problem is that even if the battery working (and you know if this is case because the timer mechanism clicks as it is working) the slot release does not properly engage at the selected time. A third issue with the two that we bought is that one the dish mechanisms is just plain broken. I can not in all faith recommend this product.

Battery operated so no cords lying around prompt delivery. I went for the larger size TX2 I am pleased that I did as the compartments are two sizes [one is length 13 cm width 11 cm depth 3 cm] - which fits into the main compartment length 14cm width 12cm depth 5cm. One fits into the other. Just the right size for my cat, and her treats. nice and very easy to clean. Ice packs included. The timers are so silent I wondered if it was working properly! Silent mechanism. When you turn it over to fit the battery's [not included 2 x AA required] You can see the internal movement of the mechanism. My hearings not to great and I cant hear it at all. I have tried the timing system many times and it has not failed to open. Nice smooth virtually silent opening. My cat has already used it, she is happy with it. It came very clean and no nasty plastic smells. It is an egg timer style clock, which is divided into hours 48 in total. The timers (2) silently rotate, and then reaches 0 with a 2 millimetre opening, that eventually releases the 1 millimetre pin, this allows it to open. The instructions warn you if you want it to open as 12 set it for 10 Couple of slight issues. No off switch. Its either open, or timer set to open and it is on. I've just removed the battery's, its not a big issue. I am just using it for my cat. But If I had an eager puppy or a 'havago dog' I don't think that it is built for claws pulling and trying to open it.... I have done quite a bit of research using the feed back info on the many, many other food dispensers out there.. This is BY FAR the one with the best food size compartments, and much less complained about compared to the other options out there. I bought this product based on product, not price and if I had of needed to do I would have paid more. I truly recommend this product to cat lovers.

I’ve not used this yet but have tested and it seems to work fine! One thing to note is that the product I received needs just one AA battery not 2 as described in the product info. After asking the question on here I seem to have been delivered a different model to most and do not have the option to use one battery for each compartment to use them individually so they both need to be in use/on timer, which is annoying!

Lots of electronic feeders are available and we have bought a couple of types over the years This two tray unit is solidly mad and I think it will outlast the more complex types with rotating motor driven mechanisms etc What you essentially have are two fairly large trays with space under them for the provided gel filled bags you cool in the freezer Each tray has a separate timer which can be set for up to 48 hours These timers are a bit like an electric clock mechanism and you will hear the ticking as they count down The timer rotates just like a mechanical style kitchen timer til it reaches the home position where a cutout releases the sprung loaded lid over the food For cats thats just perfect but dogs might just rip the thing open I can't say Also each side needs an AA battery but there isn't an on/off switch as far as I can see so presumably the power just disconnects when the lid opens At £14.99 this is a really good buy and can feed the cat for up to 2 days after you go away or a couple of times during the day while you are at work

...mit kleinen Einschränkungen, die man jedoch im Angesicht des Preises nicht wirklich übelnehmen kann. Ich nutze den Automaten jeden Tag, weil mein Kater mich sonst jeden Tag zwischen 4 und 5 Uhr morgens geweckt hat, weil er Hunger hatte (und das sehr laut und ausdauernd). Nach ca. einem Jahr täglicher Nutzung war plötzlich der rechte Deckel angebrochen und konnte nicht mehr geschlossen werden. Mir ist das Öffnen auf die Sekunde genau nicht wichtig, dafür aber die Zuverlässigkeit. Bisher ging der Napf immer auf (plus-minus 20 Minuten genau). Die Kühlakkus sind sehr praktisch für Nassfutter und halten so ca. 4-5 Stunden das Futter frisch (natürlich nur, wenn die Fußbodenheizung nicht an ist und nicht im Hochsommer). Besonders praktisch ist, dass man die eigentlichen Näpfe herausnehmen und in der Spülmaschine reinigen kann. Trotz der kleinen Minuspunkte gibt es 5 Sterne, weil ich dank dieses Futterautomaten endlich mal länger als 4 Uhr morgens schlafen kann. Apropos schlafen: der Timer im Automaten tickt, also am besten etwas weiter weg vom Schlafzimmer aufstellen. Übrigens war das erste Modell lauter, als das zweite... Pro Timer gibt es eine Batterie. Bei mir hielten die Batterien (AA) ca. 1 Jahr. Nachtrag: Ich hatte nun schon den zweiten Automaten, weil 1 kaputt ging und bei dem zweiten fiel mir auf, das das Ticken deutlich lauter ist, als beim ersten Exemplar. Also nicht wie das mäßig laute Ticken einer Uhr im Zimmer, sondern mehr ein deutliches Klackern.

Fonctionne très bien utilitation très simple Très utile pour la programmation des cachets a prendre en temps et en heure lors de nos absences, mon chien a très bien compris le principe.

Works as intended; our cat was a little wary at first, probably because of the ticking sound, but she got used to it (or hunger overcame fear!). The gel chiller packs provided are not brilliant: they thaw rapidly, and have to be pressed as flat as possible before freezing to allow for expansion, otherwise they do not fit under the bowls and the lids will not close. For this reason we could only use the feeder for dried food, but luckily we had also bought a CatMate feeder with a solid freezer block, which served well for wet food. Please note that the bowls in this are quite deep, so cats may not be keen to eat from them unless they are filled quite high (at least at the front).
