Outstanding. Wish I'd bought one years ago.
Having owned and used several consumer-level tyre inflators over many years of car and motorcycle use, i started looking around for a replacement when the last of cheap ones died. I wanted something that was durable, not encased in cheap plastic, with long cables and hoses and good durability. And a mechanical gauge. No batteries or electronics. The Ring RAC900 delivers all this and more. The unit itself is reassuringly solid yet compact. The cylinder has cooling fins to enable sustained operation. Hardware is all metal. Nothing plastic to break off with age or chemical / UV weakening. Even the power switch is protected from the elements by a transparent rubber cover. All air fittings have a reassuringly solid feel, from the heavy rubber outlet hose at the compressor end through the coiled extendable hose to the brass push-fit connections. There's even a proper analogue air pressure gauge encased in protective rubber. The power cord is long and the crocodile clips of a good size and solid construction. In use, the unit is noticeably quieter than all my previous inflators. It makes very short work of pumping up tyres. Better even than some garage forecourt ones. I added 20PSI to a space saver spare in probably 30 seconds. The supplied pressure gauge is not too accurate, however. I stopped the inflation dead on 60PSI, then measured the tyre using a calibrated gauge, which showed just over 55psi. Still, that's a little under a 10% discrepancy, which is very acceptable for a unit of this modest price. The whole thing is housed in a fitted durable looking bag, which is a far better option than the usual blow-moulded plastic case that you tend to find on consumer products. Even at the full price this is a bargain. At the £79.99 that I paid, it was a steal. Highly recommended.

A quality product
Having bought other cheaper compressors that all failed to inflate my van tyres to 80psi or struggled and overheated it was a real pleasure to use this item that does exactly what it claims. Nicely engineered with quality parts it runs quietly and effortlessly to inflate van tyres and is worth the money. Full marks.

Superb. Pumped to 80 PSI without breaking a sweat.
Superb. Three other tyre inflators failed (two broke down - permanently - one of them being the "heavy duty" Ring RAC830) and they also blew "cigar lighter" fuses while trying to pump up my motorhome's tyres to 80PSI. This, connected directly to the battery, simply breezed through that task and didn't break a sweat. It may not look fancy; it may not be "digital"; and it may seem expensive but it feels really like a solid piece of engineering as soon as you get it out of the box and it simply does the job; reliably! Highly recommended.

Great pum, but room for improvement
Needed a new inflator for 7.5 m Motorhome inflating up to 80 PSI small enough to stow away and big enough to cope, and this seemed to fit the bill. It connect to the Vans (Fiat Ducato) jumpstart point under the bonnet. With the long flex tail it just reaches both rear wheels. (About 6 m) I had to deflate the tyre to about 70 PSI to test it and it inflated back to 75PSI in very short time. Didn’t time it, but less than a minute so a great study product. Now for the negative. Would be great if the el cable were a bit longer, 7.5 m Motorhome is about the limit. The gauge is very inaccurate. You will need an alternative gauge to check the pressure. It would be nice if the gauge came with switch off. On this version you have to connect the tube. Walk back to pump to switch on, then return to check the pressure, which seems about 5-7 PSI above what you want, then return to the pump and switch off. (Or be two of you) In conclusion. The pump is great, the attachment has room for improvement.

Really excellent pump, easy to use and the storage/carry bag is a great addition
I have had a Ring RAC750 for a couple of years and never been completely happy with it, I had assumed being mains powered it would be powerful and quick, but it wasn't. This year it has stopped working, I can hear an air-leak inside, but I could not figure out how to open it to access the internals. So, I decided to buy a new compressor. I was a bit dubious about a compressor powered off the car battery, but I need not have been. First impressions are that this RAC900 is a well made piece of equipment, presented in a really useful carry bag. I like especially that there are 2 compartments allowing to keep the hose separate from the compressor itself, and the smaller size of the compartment for the hose will help keep it tidy and untangled. One small but excellent improvement/addition would be a small pocket for the adaptors. The fitting to the tyre valve screws-on, which is very secure. am happy it does not use one of the fiddly fittings with a plastic lever to lock it in place (or let it fall off part way through, or wear out and stop locking). I had a car tyre that had deflated to less than 1 bar and it was pressured up to 2.2 bars in around 90 seconds using the RAC900. I am happy with the accuracy of the pressure gauge, I checked the reading against 2 hand-held gauges that I have, one dial gauge and one LCD electronic gauge. All readings agree. Once the air-hose is screwed onto the tyre valve, you can inflate and deflate the tyre without removing the fitting. Just stop the pump to check the tyre pressure reading. The instructions are very easy to follow. The power lead, and air hose are both well long enough to make using this compressor very straightforward and convenient. All round it is a well thought out piece of equipment, which is not always the case from any/all manufacturers. I highly recommend this pump. The RAC900 is almost everything the RAC750 isn't, and is well worth the additional cost. Edit: 4 Oct 2018...used this for around a month, and it is superb, I am VERY happy with it. I had a leaking tyre and this was handy to keep it topped up. I then deflated my tyres completely and added a chemical to each to seal small punctures (Goop - available on Amazon). Inflating each tyre from completely empty was a doddle. The carry case sits in the boot of my car, taking up little space and keeping everything handy, and tidy. I cannot recommend it highly enough. EDIT_ Feb 2019: still using this compressor. It is excellent and so much more convenient than trying to find a garage with a working airline, or then needing the correct coins. EDIT_May 2020: still using this, it lives in the boot of my car, a great piece of kit.

Quick and quiet
I was looking for a compressor to pump up the tyres on my Land Rover and came across this. Most reviews seemed favourable so I thought I'd give it a go and so far I am very pleased with it. The unit is very well made, packs away neatly into it's own carrying bag and inflates tyres much faster than cheaper products. It is very quiet and doesn't have a habit of moving off down the driveway under it's own vibrations like other compressors that I have used. A couple of things to be aware of, the unit does get very hot - this is not a criticism as all compressors will. Also you need to switch the compressor off to get an accurate reading on the pressure gauge - the gauge is on one end of the airline and the on/off switch at the other. A little awkward perhaps and difficult to address but not really a problem unless you are too lazy to walk the length of the air line. In practice you soon get a feel for how much the gauge over reads during operation and don't need an accurate check. Also in the box were a couple of adapters for inflating footballs, airbeds etc. All in all I would say that it is well worth investing the extra money and buying this well built, quiet and efficient little compressor.

Out of the box
Needed a reliable inflator that would last. Previously bought cheap units that were hardly used before they gave up, concluded they were more expensive in the long term when adding the cost of replacements together: Impressed with the component quality of this unit and also of the well designed range of accessories that come with it. This unit lets you leave the compressor in one position and take the pressure line to each tyre in turn - much quicker and easier than having to move it each time as is the case with many cheap units. It was a lot quieter than previous cheap models and had a feel of professional gear about it. It all went together intuitively and was simple and easy to use. Wasn't expecting this unit to operate as quick as it does - actually got caught out inflating cycle tyres - it was so quick I was scambling for the off switch! Very pleased with it so far, it was just perfect for my needs, the main issue for me is.. 'how long will it last?' Having said that, I made an enquiry regarding the maximum recommended practical pressure usage, directly to the manufacturer and they replied immediately explaining that these units have an automatic pressure cutout 'built-in' which used to be set at 65psi, but is now set at 90psi, so although the documentation might state this unit is unsuitable for certain types of high pressure tyre inflation, it sounds as if it is capable of use up to quite high pressure levels. Lastly, may be cos it seems so quick, the unit didn't get hot at all while I was using it (unlike my cheapy units - and dispite the numerous warnings that come with it!). So I guess the info about letting it cool off might only (practically) come about if you are using it for exceptionally heavy jobs, such as fully inflating fully deflated tyres, etc.. So far, I would be pleased to recommend this unit to any one (for the purpose it is sold) Top Marks.

I debated what to buy but wow, this is great
I was most worried that this connected to a car battery for power. What a faff I thought but it is so easy, lift the bonnet, clip it on and bam! This is so good, it inflates the aravan yres (topping up) in seconds, does the kids cycles in about 5 seconds flat and even took a Land Rover (big) tyre from near flat to inflated in 2 mins. This is a great unit, very well made, clunks together in a nice metallic click kind of way and the quality of hoses, connectors etc. is awesome. I have used this on my car, my wife's car, the caravan, the bike, the kids cycles and even a new wheelbarrow tyre. I would not hesitate to buy again and now on caravan trips, carry this in the car at all times just in case. Have no fear with this item, it really is that good. 5 star and some I reckon. * * * * Updated 1 year on - possibly the best item in my garage - took on hols too (with caravan) and proved to be dead handy, took up so little space for such a lot of benefit - Wish I could give this 6 stars and now would never be without it - I debated so long about which to buy - so pleased I went for this one :-) * * * *

Great Compressor
Great compressor! Quiet and powerful. Superior to the two PI compressors I bought of which one burnt out topping of travel trailer tires. Allthough this one is triple the price of the popular PI but we’ll worth it based on my experience.

Leider Geil
Ich habe das Gerät bereits zum 2. Mal gekauft.
