Liquitex Professional Flow Aid, 118 Ml

I use this for miniature painting. I have decanted it into a smaller dropper bottle for easier use, but I think this one bottle will last a lifetime. There's enough that I've got some extra dropper bottles to give to friends.It helps reduce visible brush strokes and is great for techniques like wet blending.

I’m a hobby painter who enjoys painting miniatures. The one constant problem a mini painter has is the paint drying on the palette and on the brush. The problem isn’t so much wasting paint it’s that the paint becomes ‘gritty’ and doesn’t flow evenly from the brush.As a bit of an experiment, I thought I’d try a Flow Aid. It was added to by small pot of distilled water at the recommended dosage 1:20 flow aid to water. I can state that the result was dramatic and instant.The benefits were multi-fold:1) The water mix when added to paint seems to thin better (extended?)2) Drying time seems improved (possibly due to above)3) Paint flows much better from brush4) Paint flows better on surface of miniature.To a certain extent, this has reduced my dependence on Acrylic Medium and Retarder but each has it’s place.Just a point that at a 1:20 mix ratio, this bottle will last FOREVER.. I think enough for thinning litres of paint.I recommend this to any miniature painter and I will only be using water mixed with Flow Aid for thinning my paints from now-on. Combined with Acrylic Medium and Retarder, this gives a lot of flexibility. I’m so impressed with Liquitex products that I will be buying their Blending Medium to give that a try also!

Perfect! Helps liquid flow even in the recent hot weather when my palette was drying quickly.

Cant fault the product - I am using it to create my own custom washes from acrylic paints. The price is a bit painful though.

I have some paints that I bought when I first took up painting again. The heavy bodied paint I have is not for fine art but suitable for children's room or art journalling. Rather than waste it I use the flow aid so that I can use these paints in the best way possible for a perfect outcome.It is a real desert island product. Also it is important that living in Qld Australia means that acrylic paint dries so quickly I use a small drop every time I put paint in my palette even if it is an easy flow so that it doesn't dry up.

Been a miracle for my paint by number paints that got so thick. Product arrived in a couple of days when I was expecting 3 weeks! Super happy with product and speedy delivery.
