So if you're like me and you needed a new sodastream bottle or 2 and you see they have the x2 1 litre bottles available, you buy them assuming they fit your manual machine and find out that this is a probable coy for the company to make you go out and buy a new machine or if you have to now send the bottles back and exchange for the tiny 500ml bottles but you really don't want to, you wish you could find where to get the old 1 litre bottles but when you search Amazon you don't know if you'll be getting the correct one.... Do this next bit of you don't want to spend more money or waste time or care what the machine will look like after, what I did (pic attached, should have cleaned it before taking a pic lol) but solder off the front of the bottom (make sure cannister is NOT connected when doing this(I didn't have it connected but just incase)) after that's done the new bottles will fit! (Disclaimer - I am not a professional, this was a DIY opportunity I seen and took the chance and it worked for me, make sure it's only plastic on the front and nothing else before soldering) Good luck!

I was looking for something to carry my fizzy drinks - i dont have a soda stream.Looking at all the containers these were the best value and build. The metal bottles only carry water, i like to have orange coke etc so needed plastic.So a 50p 2lt bottle of drink fills these bottles up a few of times, beats paying the £1.20 for a bottle for drinks.The bottles are very strong, the lids secure nicely with no leaks.They add no horrible tastes to the drinks like metal bottles.They keep my drinks fizzy as long as the bottle is dry.They are really nice to drink from.Dont wash them in the dishwaser, just wash and rinse by hand and you will be fine.

Purchased two of these so that there is always a bottle spare for when te grandchildren to to stay.Our son is constantly filling up the one with PepsiMax syrup so we needed more bottles.

I have a Soda stream Spirit (manual)and found I need to fill the bottle with water up to the syrup line so the gas nozzle sits in the water to enable the gas to go into the water. If it's not in the water, you just get gas in the top space & no fizzy water.

I got these as spares for my genesis soda stream. Very mixed reviews on if it fit or not. They don't fit if you leave the drip tray in, as they are skinny and long compared to the ones that came with my machine.I took the drip tray out and fiddled for a split second putting it a certain angle (stress free) and it fit in perfectly. For the price they was im happy. If you can't be bothered to fiddle then they ain't ideal.

It woks but seems like a cheaper plastic than the one that come with my machine also the black cap on bottom can not be removed so can’t be cleaned easy but for £9.99 for 2 it’s worth the money would buy again

Let be honest not as well made as the metal topped Soda stream original. However we have found these more than good enough charge all right keep the soda water fizzing.They work

Good quality but overpriced

The cap on the black one is different to the white one!The white cap works very well but, the black one leaks. The caps are different in manufacture and the black one leaks. I have fixed this by adding a plastic type washer. Replacement tops are more than the cost of new bottles!

Confusing labelling by Sodastram regarding compatibility:Stated here in text as for Play/Source/Power machines (ie current models that 'grab' the bottle, which do not require it to be screwed into position ?? - my interpretation)Packaging text on supplied product reads: Suitable for ALL Sodastream sparlkling water makers OTHER THAN Crystal and Penguin (my capitals)and finally, the 'Safety Warning' label applied to the Source says 'Do not use Sodastream Glass or 0.5 liter PET bottles (these are PET !), BUT the Source instructions say, on page 8 warnings: ".. designed to work with all 1L Sodastream carbonating bottles AS WELL AS the 0.5L carbonating bottle marked 'Source''. Sodastream glass carbonating botles and 0.5L bottles that ARE NOT MARKED 'Source'' are not compatible..and should not be used". (my capitals)These DO NOT appear to 'marked Source' BUT ARE MECHANICALLY COMPATIBLE Sodastream Original bottles .... they (Sodastream) need to sort out their contradictory labelling !!! - the caps are interchangeable with the machine-supplied 1L bottle, and the threads match 8-)(Nothing on the supplied packaging uses the word 'Fuse'either; simply 'Sodastream(R) 0.5 litre 2x 0.5L Carbonating bottles Product Code on Package = 8 718692 611474

Great to store multiple bottles of sparkling water.One of my bottles has a funny smell that seems stained in the bottle cap so makes the bottle smell funny, but you can just pour it straight into glasses and it won’t taint the taste - although it’s a little annoying. The bottles are totally needed if more than one person uses the soda stream - constant cold water
