This is a great all-round black dye and excellent value for money. I’ve used it several times and it consistently gives deep, even colour on my clothes. I do prefer the pods over the bags though – they’re just easier and less messy to handle.Unfortunately, this time the packaging was very poorly done. When I opened the parcel, there was black dye everywhere – all over my kitchen and my hands. I’m not sure if one of the bags had split during transit, but the mess was almost impossible to clean up. If it had been packaged in an extra bag it could have prevented this. That said, at least it proves the dye works well – just wish it had stayed on the clothes rather than my counters!

Easy to use and no mess. The instructions recommend not trying to dye too many items as the colour might not be as dark. I had some slightly faded black linen trousers which I wanted to restore to their original dark black. The recommendation was to limit the weight of the fabric to 500g. I had two pairs of black linen trousers, which, together, weighed approximately 600g. I decided to take the risk as the weight was 100g more than recommended. I used the washing machine - put the whole packet of dye in the drum and then the clothing on top. 40 degree wash. The trousers came out perfectly and were restored to an 'intense' black. The advice is to then run the machine empty, with detergent, at 40 degrees to ensure that no residue is left. I was so pleased with the restored colour that I have just purchased more dye - another pack of black and a navy blue to restore the colour of further items of clothing. Great value for money and a much cheaper option than purchasing new trousers. (Unfortunately, I haven't included any photos as I should have taken before and after images).

I read all the reviews before I used this! I was so nervous but I did it - and it was fine - I ve used it in two different washing machines - followed the advice. It gives a beautiful deep black colour to faded items. For me its worked brilliantly. I used it to replensih 7grey long sleeved tops. These were heavy. It took three packets.I did them over three weeks. After using it - I did an empty hot wash with bleach as is recommendedthe tops were so deep black I was scared they would rub dye off onto white couches I was sitting on!It didnt happen. Now its times to buy some again.Only word of warning - it does break down the cotton particles slightly whenever its used. Its not something you can do all the time because more than once a year I think (in my experience) it would damage your clothes, it kinda thins them a bit. When You colour hair the hair particles on the fibre of the hair opened so the dye can fit in - this weakens hair...I can telll the tops have lost some strength in the cotton, but not to worry - I havent done my tops for three years so that goes show how long it lasts.If you coloured your tops once a year it would damage them.This is to give a new a lease life to something - machine wasnt damaged - I was so nervous about that!

Terrible item. Don't waste your money.I bought this in hopes of dying a pair of white jeans and a white t-shirt black. I weighed the clothing to make sure it didn't weigh more than 1kg and set the cycle to 40°c. The items came out of the wash patchy, with what looked like ink splotches sprayed across them. I bought another dye just incase it needed another attempt but this made those patches worse. Now I've not only wasted £20 on dye but I've also ruined my clothing.

Il colore è bello vivo e pieno, l'ho usato con un paio di scarpe di tela celestine davanti e ai lati(che avevo già provato a tingere con i pennarelli...son venute pessime), e bianche dietro.Le ho lavate a mano dentro una vaschetta, usando il solito procedimento della tintura a mano, nonostante sia una tintura per lavaggio in lavatrice.Son venute benissimo, l'unico problema sarebbe di farle immergere del tutto nella tintura senza tralasciare nessuna parte e non lasciarle al sole, perciò uscire ad asciugare la sera e riprenderle il giorno dopo prima che il sole possa rovinarle dinuovo.

I have a discoloured chair cushion cover, and I hate the look of it. I bought this product to bring the colour back to life, and it worked like a charm. Very happy with the result.
