I have shoulder length thick wavy hair that gets frizzy, I like it straight ish, what size brush do you think I should get

I would think it all depends on what length layers you have or whether your hair is one length. I have a layered chin length bob (fine hair) and use a size 35mm for the layers and 25mm for the fringe. Hope this helps.

Is the handle plastic or wooden?

Handle is a hard plastic, just like the ones at hairdress . I cant find any difference.

Why does it need a battery as stated? Is it not a normal brush?

what brush size is best for thick curly medium length hair please?

I have medium to fine hair and use size 2. I would suggest a size 3 or 4 for thick curls. Hope this helps.
