I was going to return but...
I was going to return this item because a customer no longer wanted it but low & behold I had an old 32GB HDD from an old win2000 PC (I think) so IO took it out and it works. I'm going to use it to make a recovery drive rather than cost these guys another shipping fee. Works like a charm. Thanks!

Pins bent on arrival
Pins were bent. Was put in a sleeve and not a box when it was shipped.Awareness: my application/use in the PowerBook G4 pictured was not a replacement but rather to get PPC Tiger installed on a SATA SSD/HDD without target disk mode available. For those looking to get this for a PowerBook G4, this WILL NOT WORK, and it is TOO LARGE for the drive bay. Do not fault the seller for this.

It "works" but it doesn't recognize any of my hard disk file systems.
Under Windows, trying to access my old IDE hard drives that I know for a fact were formatted NTFS resulted in "the drive is inaccessible, the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" or similar. Uh no, why is it doing this? Under Disk Manager the drives partitions were reported as RAW so something is definitely wrong with how this adapter interprets file systems. Unfortunately I only have two IDE laptop drives to test with but both gave me the same error. I was able to recover the data by not doing anything and simply launching the data recovery software (R-Photo in my case). Low 'n behold my data was recognized immediately, recovery went smoothly but I wouldn't recommend this adapter even if it "works." Maybe the issue was I am using a SATA to USB (Sabrent) adapter plugged into this IDE to SATA adapter (IDE>SATA to SATA>USB)? This adapter makes it impossible to install the drive into a modern laptop, I'm guessing the intended usage is with a desktop? I don't know, I gave it two stars because I was able to recover data but other people might really think they've lost their data unless they're tech savvy.

Does what it's supposed to.
Good price and good function. Not something I expect to buy a lot of. Attached to old drive, hook up to pc, wipe drive or verify drive is non functional. Badda bing badda boom.

Didn't work
The adapter didn't work for two laptop IDE drives, Travelstar and WD. Will return the adapter.

Fragile
Broken before I had a chance to use it. Plugged it in and repositioned the drive - broke easily.
