Kaavie GC-2 Pocket Size 3-in-1 White Balance and Grey Cards (Pack of 3), grey+white+black

If you looked this far you will already have noticed a bewildering variety of similar products on offer. I was looking for some portable cards to check my camera against the confusion of lighting found in and around wedding venues. Whilst some situations are sufficiently static to allow for some planning, many are not and a useful set of cards like this allows for portability, speed and accuracy. These robustly constructed cards are exactly what I was looking for. They are credit card sized and fit easily into a pocket with a handy short lanyard to keep them together and easy to reach. Considering that similar cards sell for twice the price, these are a real bargain.

This is an excellent, very reasonably priced set of three credit-card sized, white-balance cards. The cards (white, grey and black) are made from rigid plastic with a matt surface and are perforated in one corner to attach to the wrist strap supplied. I use a micro 4/3-format Olympus camera, so these cards are an ideal size to carry and to take a custom white balance reading. Recommended!!

I have found these cards to be great value for money, but they are not 100% perfect for me. I don't really use the white and the black cards. I use mainly the gray card to set both white balance and to set correct exposure using spot metering.When using the gray card for setting the white balance in post, I have found the card produces slightly warm pictures. The good thing is that it is consistent in it's warmth, which means that once you figured out how much you have to dial down that warmth in your software, from then on you tend to get fairly consistent results when you use them.For metering, I suspect that the card is ever so slightly off. I believe it is slightly dark by about 1/3 to 1/2 stop. I will confirm this once I get a light meter I have ordered recently. But again, 1/3 stop is not really a problem for digital cameras. Because this is consistent, you can easily adjust for this in post. In fact, without this card it is not uncommon to have to adjust an image by a stop or more when evaluative metering gets the exposure completely wrong. Provided you don't burn out the highlights, the results don't seem to suffer much.So, in summary, despite these shortcomings, if you are a knowledgeable SLR shooter and don't have a gray card in your camera bag, these are really cheap and do come in useful in the write situations. A great little set of cards for checking white balance and exposure. Being credit card sized, they're not obtrusive or a chore to carry around (mine live happily in my camera bag). The lanyard is a nice touch and being rigid plastic, I imagine they'll last a lifetime if cared for.At this price they'd make a great stocking filler or cheap gift.

Works OK, Black is a little to shiny and reflects light.

I've been meaning to get a grey card for quite some time. This was a reasonably priced option. Cards are small but still big enough to help with metering and white balance - very portable. Cards came in a plastic pouch which I keep them in to prevent damage. Handy for anyone's camera bag.

It is difficult to imagine any other photographic accessory that gives as much "bang for the buck" as grey cards and particularly an inexpensive set such as these. Until now I had used a clean handkerchief or similar piece of cloth. A proper card makes me realise that although the hanky was usually better than auto white balance, a proper card delivers a much improved result. I'll be getting a second set to go with my small camera.You may wonder if a credit card sized card is large enough for setting your camera's white balance. If so, check if any ordinary credit card is large enough to cover the white balance zone used by your camera. It doesn't need to be in focus so you can use the maximum zoom and then get as close as necessary. Of course, if you are too close, reflections from your clothing may affect the result.Five stars because these do the job for a very realistic price.

Pratico, tascabile e di buon materiali, consiglio a tutti questo set di schede indispensabili per avere un corretto bilanciamento del bianco.Materiali in plastica, dimensioni tipo carte di credito, prezzo onesto!Eccellente Amazon come sempre!!!Per chi non li ha mai usati:Metodo 1 - basta avvicinarli al soggetto da fotografare e scattare una foto, pio in post-produzione selezioni la scheda grigia come bianco, e la foto si bilancia immediatamente.Metodo 2 - scatta una foto senza autofocus avvicinando il cartoncino grigio alla lente e imposta in camera come bianco personalizzato ed il gioco è fatto!

Permet le choix d'une balance sur carte blanche ou grise. J'ai lu quelque part qu'il est conseillé de faire la balance sur du gris. Et en effet, c'est assez efficace. Les cartes sont d'une bonne taille, ni trop grandes (portabilité), ni trop petites (surface suffisante pour faire une balance à 20 cm. La petite dragonne associée est bien pratique. Le matériau est de bonne qualité. Je ne sais pas encore à quoi peut servir la carte noire, mais je trouverai sans doute...

Son tres tarjetas de tamaño y grosor de una tarjeta de crédito. Cada tarjeta tiene el mismo color por las dos caras. El material parece bueno y duradero. La superficie mate refleja la luz de forma uniforme. El tamaño es muy cómodo para poder sacar fotos de referencia y luego ajustar en Lightroom (o similar).Pienso que la tarjeta gris es incómoda para tomar la exposición. Al ser tan pequeña, si la sostienes con tu propio brazo puedes estar cortando una buena cantidad de luz, además de que si te acercas mucho con la cámara tu cuerpo también puede oscurecer la tarjeta. También es posible que al estar tan cerca el color de tu ropa pueda teñir el color gris neutro ya afectar al balance de blancos. Pero esto son solo pequeñas dificultades, la tarea la realiza perfectamente si se tiene cuidado.Yo me las he comprado porque veo que muchas veces no solo basta con ajustar el balance de blancos. Con muchas fuentes artificiales de luz, aún habiendo balanceado correctamente los grises medios, las luces y las sombras tienen una desviación de color. Gracias a los tres tonos de las tarjetas, una vez realizado el balance de blancos sobre la tarjeta gris, puedo identificar esa desviación en las tarjetas blanca y negra, y así corregirla usando las curvas de nivel por canales.Las pruebas que acabo de hacer me han dejado muy satisfecho con la compra. Considero que son piezas de desgaste y con el tiempo volveré a comprarlas.

I love this product!!! It's perfect size for my pocket. The last thing I need to do is to carry a lot of stuff while on assignment. This is perfect!!

Außerdem sind sie sehr flexibel.alles in allem ein tolles Karten-SET, das voll meinen Ansprüchen genügt. Deswegen fünf Punkte.
