Great if you want to cut your own hair
This is my third one. Just always kept my hair short, since I started to bald a little. With no guide attached, this gives the look of almost shaved. Use it once a week, so a lot more than probably normal. Just zip it over, keep the hair at the same length. The only reason I am on the third one, is battery. Eventually they just seem to stop working. Clipper still works with power attachment. And the first one, still cuts as well as the last one. Just convenient when the battery works and it is portable. The trimmer itself is very easy to use, and the pivoting head makes life a lot easier. As you find, certain angles work best for certain parts of your head. Easy to clean, blades last forever. Like I say only issue I have ever had is the internal battery giving up the ghost, but after a long time and much usage. Still works with the power cable plugged directly in.Tried various other self cutting trimmers from various other brands. Have to say this is the easiest and best. I would either use this or just a normal powered hair clipper.

I love it....Killer gadget
After a clean DIY cut, i am glad to write this review. Philips makes the best clippers compared to anyone in the market.I had a Philips QC5170 that have been using it since 2007 but it ditched me last week. It is a very useful gadget at least for me and hence decided to go for another. I could only realize how good this product is when I compare it to the previous model i used.People who want to buy this should first understand whether it is the right product for them. The target customer for this product are people who would like to keep short hair or trim it. It my case, I am a baldy and don't believe in spending those unnecessary pounds in those men's parlor (Also with this I avoid "Where to start from" kind of strange look I often get from the parlor guy).I am delighted that i made a decision to buy this.Pros:1. As usual the Amazon delivery was fast and well packed and tracked.2. The build quality is extremely good. The soft-touch rubber sides giving you a nice grip.3. Washable under the tap to keep it clean4. One single self sharpening blade. Some clippers comes with multiple blades. This one has a "one for all" blade.5. The main comb is an all-rounder and that's what you will need most of the time. This can cut hair in .5mm - 15mm length. Most clippers come with multiple comb and you need to keep changing them based on the length you need. Not with this one.6. There is a precision comb that can give nice finishing touch to your sideburns or edges. (Be extra careful when you use it)7. Its not that noisy. Calm buzzing sound while in use8. Best part - Just charge it for an hour to get an hour of cut. This is enough for a single grooming session. My previous clipper needed 8 hrs of charge to use it for an hour. Life saver!! There is battery charging indicator and you will know when it's fully charged.9. The blades don't pull the hair whilst trimming and does not cause skin irritation10. Rotating head makes the DIY very easy11. Not pricey. I bought it for half price from amazon. The previous one i paid double the money.Cons:1. The power button is a bit hard to press. But i don't see this as a negative.2. The blades will need oiling at times. They do supply a small oil bottle with this. I wish this could be avoided.Overall i am very glad with the purchase and its a nice little gadget for men like me. I save time and money with this. Most of the good points I highlighted is in comparison with my old Philips clipper. I have been using DIY clippers since last 7 years and i will recommend this product based on my experience.Do not worry in case you could not get it right first time. As you keep using it you will get experienced. If you are new to DIY clippers and have a helpful partner, be greedy and keep her happy on the day you plan to use it so that you can ask for help (if required).Edit 06/21: After 6+ years of continuous use, the clippers built in battery was dead and it stopped working. Used my basic DYI skills to solder another branded rechargeable AAA batteries. Back to normal, works as new. Still one of the best clippers out there.

Excellent clippers
I have purchased these in the past and lasted ages, actually still running. They have the ability to rotate the head to different angles. I don’t use the often as they are just pretty small, ergonomic and easy to hold. The battery lasts pretty well, usually for a few cuts. What I love is the adjustable clipper combs. You get 2 interchangeable, one is grade 1-3 and the other 3-12 I believe. I find it much more convenient. Just rotate the collar and it adjusts the grade. Saves having to change and store a bunch of individual combs. They cut cleanly, I’ve never had them tug or yank my hair. Actually use them even to clip my stubble when it’s got too long for the electric shaver.Only reason I’ve taken a star away is because the combs are a bit fragile. My last clippers still work but the small clips that hold the combs in place broke off and actually split between the combs of the larger one. What really peeved me was the price trying to find replacements. If they had been a few pounds this would have been a 5 star product but at over 10 I couldn’t justify it. Seemed better value at the price to just buy a new set of clippers. If this has been helpful, a thumbs up would be appreciated :)

Simple, Solid & Straightforwardly lovely Hair Clippers!!!
Had thorough search and several purchase cancellations of other hair clippers before finally purchasing this little cute clipper.Grip:Grip is ideally good of this clipper as nicely snug all over palm allowing its very sharp edged cutters to run smoothly through thick sticky dusty oily whatever hair type you plan to use it on.180 Roataion:It rotates nicely with firm locking dial to suit the need of your comfort while trimming off hair from any angle you desire.Hair Combs:Now have numerous feedbacks read of people complaining about fragile plastic made combs that broke partially. To be honest, i was bit concerened until i have it all in my hands and these feel fairly sold but bit tricky when attaching/de-attaching knowing the fact that this is different technology based clipper that rotates 180 degree angle hence the combs are slightly modified likewise. All i say is that not your regular clipper combs, be gentle when pulling combs out or putting back after completely familiarizing with "how it should be" you won't ending up breaking any bits hopefully.Charging/Battery time:Clipper was charged when i firstly took it out of the box hence i put it on charging maximizing to full.27 minutes and white light stayed on that is indication of device fully charged (refer to product guide provided). Had it on for 37 minutes or so and it didn't fail to impress with its powerful motor performance. Don't exactly know how long this first charging will last but hopefully you got an idea of good battery sign. Blinking white light looks nice.Waterproof:Can i just stop praising enough of this little monster? No, not yet! Apart from immersing it in drowning level water. You can wash the whole device including combs under running tab. I will try it under shower next time when my hair grows back. Make sure you dry it all completely before storing until next use. Charging adaptor MUST stay and rest on the dry couch while enjoying watching clipper family's pool party :)Tiny Bottle of Oil Included:It says zero maintenance and "no oiling"on box hence provided therein a tiny oil bottle in the packaging. I am confused as what to do with oil came along with a device that needs no oil at all. I will use it anyhow!.....on my bicycle pedals.Bits you might be missing:No Carrying Case/PouchWhat else? What else?I am not paid by Amazon OR Philips from any extent. I just so like the clippers and Amazon's good delivery service that i wrote it all here. Finally, this is STRICTLY Head Grooming Device and No Nose, ear, eyebrows trimming.I highly recommend to buy.

Your Own Personal Hair Stylist
As soon as I received this and after reading the instructions (in easy-to-understand diagrams), I plugged it into the charger and after around 20 minutes the 'charge indicator light' stopped blinking and stayed on, which means it had fully charged. This is the first time I've ever used hair clippers, as I would always go to my local barber. However, I realised that my barber was only using hair clippers on my hair the last few times I went, so I thought "why don't I just do that myself?!". It costs 10 Euros for a haircut, so three uses of this and it will have paid for itself. Also, you have the convenience of using it when and how you want. So, I set it to 15mm and started 'clipping'. I found it incredibly easy to use, especially since you can rotate the head and this makes it much more comfortable trimming the sides & back. This Philips Hair Clipper cuts effortlessly and after I had finished, I thought to myself "this is bloody great!". Really though, it's so simple and I would say that the only slightly cumbersome thing is if you want to make a straight line or just tidy up the hair below the back of your head. I used my 'Gillette Fusion ProGlide 3-in-1 Styler' in conjunction with a mirror to do that.I think this is fantastic value for money considering what you'll save not going to a barber/hair stylist and the convenience it brings. This is a great tool to own.

A fabulous set of clippers.
This is the best set of clippers I've ever owned. I've always struggled with my personal grooming, and for years have been mostly paying to have my hair cut and my beard trimmed at a smelly, smoke-filled barber's, surrounded by rude, sweaty men talking about sports, and shagging, and cars, and shagging, and sports, and more shagging. I hate it. And for years I've wished that I could simply do it myself in the comfort and tranquillity of my own home, to avoid the whole miserable barber's shop experience. But I'm not skilled at grooming, and no clippers have ever done the job - until now.Suddenly I can give myself a really good, non-embarrassing haircut and beard-trim, with minimal effort, and a seemingly inexhaustible battery. (On a single charge, over the course of four months, I've cut my hair and trimmed my beard eight times, and the battery is still showing no signs of running down). The clippers are comfortable to hold at any angle, and the revolving head is a genius feature that allows you to move the clippers across your scalp in the same way that a barber would from behind, but without dislocating your shoulder! And the length of comb is adjustable by turning a knob, rather than having to faff around with dozens of different sized combs - which get messy (and lost). Here it's all just one comb (plus another for specific jobs) that moves nearer or further from the blades. Another genius piece of design. But best of all, you can wash the whole thing under the tap, so it's easy to keep clean, and it requires no maintenance at all (although some oil is provided if you choose to use it).Overall, this is a perfect piece of design and engineering; sturdy, well-built, waterproof, reliable, user-friendly, ergonomic, and surprisingly fun to use. For the first time in my life I don't dread getting a haircut. In fact, I consider it one of the more enjoyable of life's chores. Highly recommended.

Amazingly good results.
I'm not a fan of going to the barber and often leave my hair for as long as I can just so that I can put off going.I saw these clippers at a good price with almost all very positive reviews with most saying how really easy it is to cut your own hair.So I took the plunge! Have cut my hair for the first time this morning and am amazed by the results.I don't have a very short cut...no.3 back and sides and no.6 on top,but it had got very long.I started off on the longest cut setting as advised by many others and even from the first few strokes when huge clumps were being cut off,I had confidence that it was going well. I experimented with different cut settings and after about 20 mins I had a very decent passable haircut. The clippers are so quiet and light to hold and the swivel head is a stroke of genius...it really is so so simple to cut the hair on the back of your head.I am not often impressed by things i buy these days, but I really am blown away by these clippers. If you're thinking about cutting your own hair, but are not sure if you can get good results, hesitate no more. You really can't go wrong with these clippers and at less than £30.00 at the time I purchased them, they'll pay for themselves in a few months.

Decent clippers but with a tendency to "miss" spots...
Finally accepting that it was time to shave the old head I got the barber to do the dirty deed.About 2 minutes later he was done, and I handed him a tenner... I spent more time waiting than sat in the chair. This wasn't right? So I set about researching head shavers I settled on this one by Philips. It was the 180 degree rotating head that swung it for me, and for the most part the shaver is good, great even, BUT, it does have the tendency to miss small clumps of hair even if you go over that area multiple times. I find that I have to attack my attack from multiple angles to get the best cut.Whilst this is an annoyance, when you do get it right it cuts fairly close. Not as close as a wet shave, obviously, but what you're left with will do in a pinch. The larger comb broke pretty quickly, as I've never used it, I can only assume that it was someone defective in the box, but, as mentioned I never use or used it, so it didn't matter to me much. The smaller comb has withstood all the abuse my head has thrown at it.If you take your time you can get a fine cut out of it, and, best of all, the thing pays for itself within a few shaves. Marvellous.

Better than the previous model (which was very good)
This model works as described. I bought it as a replacement for the earlier Philips model which served me well for years. And I am not disappointed.

Not too bad
Blades are quite sharp and fit the purpose

Empfehlenswert in jeder Hinsicht
