Near perfect quality
Great for thick, curly hair. Quite difficult to apply to hair by itself so I wouldn't recommend as a first-off for beginners who aren't sure what style of hair they want or who don't know how to handle their hair. I just leave it floating in very hot water for a few minutes to let it melt for a bit - it becomes significantly easier to apply this way. Others may choose to use a hair dryer for a minute or two or leave it on a heater (though the latter is supposedly not recommended). As with all oil based pomades it doesn't wash out easily and holds your hair very well, while at the same time being easier to recomb/restyle than most water-based pomades, making it perfect for rainy days or for when people feel like ruffling your hair throughout the day. It can end up quite sticky on your hands when applying it - I've just had to wash my hands vigorously after using it. The value and simplicity of this product is what makes it go above and beyond the rest of the other products. Couldn't be happier.

Great for the price...
I normally buy water based pomades, but I've just finished off a tin of Layrite, so I thought I'd grab a can of Murrays and have a go at using oil based for a change. I don't do any pomps or time consuming styles to my hair, I just literally apply the product and slam it back. Opening the can of Murrays, it's scent and look reminds me of Dax. After taking out a scoop, it's thick and strong but with a bit of work and warmth it spreads well into my palms. It's easy to apply to damp, towel dried hair, but the only thing I wish the product had is a bit more hold throughout the day, because I mainly work outside, but on the flip side, it's nice to be able to comb through again when needed instead of trying to restyle a rock hard slick back by adding water. I've got thick wavy hair, but the product managed to control and straighten it out. I also like how it smoothed down the sides of my hair when I combed over them with a bristle brush. I found that Murrays really shone with a few days of build up in my hair. When it came to reapplying on a morning, I was giving my hair a spritz with a mix of hair tonic and water in a spray bottle. But when it came to washing it out on the third day, most of it shifted with two washes, but I could still feel a bit in my hair more so around the roots. Overall, it's a great pomade and I really can't fault it for the low price ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Superior indeed!
I found this by trying to find out what Elvis used to use on his hair. I can see why he used this. It smells nice, it lasts all day long (and the next few too if you have not bought a degreasing shampoo) and is easy to apply with warm hands on damp hair. If you try and apply this to dry hair it will be like trying to run chewing gum through your locks so don't do that. Best to warm it up in your palm and apply it to some towel dried hair. It stays loose enough to remold and reshape for a bit too before finally 'going off' and setting your barnet for the duration. Its REALLY strong stuff. Roller coasters, gale force winds...defeated. This will last you the whole day...BUT.....it's mighty mighty sticky and tacky so dust sticks to your hair and its murder to wash out again without the appropriate antidote! Totally recommend it though if you want that Rockabilly/Rocker quiff or high tower style.

and a good price too
I'm just discovering old fashioned men's grooming products, and having read an article on well known blog "the art of manliness", thought I'd try murray's hair pomade. There's a reason this stuff has been around for years! It really is quality, and a good price too. Makes hair look and smell great (although it's not easy to get out at the end of the day). Gives your hair a nice shine, and holds it in place all day - the good thing, though, is that it doesn't make your hair rock solid like some products out there, but leaves it feeling soft and malleable. Wholly recommended!

Alas not for me
Having been a user of Sweet Georgia Brown for years, i was shocked to see how much they are now asking for that product. Thus i was looking for something similar at a sensible price. it was a toss up between this and one other. From the pictures on line this looked to be a similar product and was keenly price. Alas it isn't for me, whereas SGB has a soft consistency, Murrys is hard and more like trying to apply glue to your hair. I tried heating it up, which made it softer, but did not take away the glue-like effect when applying it. So i have a full tin of something i cant use and need to by something else, the added cost of which would be the same as having paid over the odds for SGB!

It seems OK.....actually, its great!
It seems OK, but I have not quite figured out how to use it yet. I had intended to smooth my frizzy natural Afro hair, around the edges, with this. It works a bit and leaves hair glossy, maybe I need to apply a lot more product. It does not flake but unless you carefully smooth it into your hair it will have a white bloom. Its incredibly thick as well. I will update on the results a a few weeks. ....Its been quite a few weeks now! I stopped using this hair dressing for a while, but since I started using it again its the best hair smoothener for frizzy (4c) hair. Dampen your hairline and apply half a teaspoon of this stuff. Smooth it down, using a bit of Elbow grease as well, and hey presto smooth edges. (By the way, Elbow Grease is not another brand, it just means that you should apply some effort)

Murray's pomade
I was very pleased with this pomade. It is easy to work through your hair and produces great results, once on it can be restyled with a comb or brush. I did notice after a few days use I could quite easily brush my hair (swept back at the sides and pushed up on top) without adding any more Murray's. The scent is great, well vanilla of a kind, but then again I've found all quality pomades seemingly smell of vanilla. Washing out took a couple of attempts, but came clean. The orange tin is pretty cool and I'd recommend Murray's to anyone with a rockin' hair style.

Great product
This was my first dip into the pomade market and I settled on Murray's after reading the reviews. To be honest I didn't want to go out and spend 15 quid on anything like Layrite/Suavetico etc. as initially I was just hoping to test the water with this stuff. I have pretty thick hair and basically I've tried everything to try and get my hair into that slicked back/quiff look but nothing seemed to work until I tried this. It keeps my hair in tact all day and has incredible hold while giving that greasy look without making it look unwashed. It also has quite a nice smell and the retro tin is pretty cool too, these are only small things but it kind of just adds to the product I suppose. It will take a few washes to get out though due to it being oil based which puts it at a disadvantage to water-based pomades. My tin is almost empty now and has lasted me quite a while and I have found myself being quite generous with it at times. I'll probably look at getting one of the more expensive water based pomades next but I would certainly recommend this product as it has done the business for me and from now on pomades are the only hair products I can see myself using.

Great product at a good price
I've been using this product as mustache wax for a while now. It works terrific. Great hold with only a small amount. I've had a hard time finding it in store and was pleased to see it offered on Amazon. Quick delivery & reasonably priced.
