It is very silver, and not as thick as I thought. I haven't been able to use it on our new deck yet, so I can't comment on ease of cleaning, durability or the like, but it looks like it will last. It's just a little "Spacey" silver for my taste.

This mat is super easy to use. You just lay it where you want your grill to go and then wheel the grill over to rest on top of it.It's a fire resistant rubbery fabric that's lightweight and folds easily.Ash and small embers that fell through our grill did no damage to the mat, and we ran the grill for most of an hour to test it (and make dinner), stirring often and letting things fall through.We did not test dropping live coals on it! I suspect after seeing how it reacted to the larger embers that it would give you a minute or two of time to frantically scoop the coals back into the grill after a spill without catching fire.What's nice about this is that I rolled the grill back to storage after, folded up the mat, and they stored together nicely.If you're concerned about running a grill on your deck or possibly your lawn, this would be the perfect item for you. Small spills and drops didn't harm it and didn't harm the deck under it. It got some heat from the grill itself, but only warmed to the touch slightly. Would definitely recommend!

Very functional and gets the job done. The mat came folded in a small package and opens up to 60x42 as advertised. It's solid black, silicone fiberglass fabric gives it a nice sheen look and is wide enough to fit my long smoker including most of my firebox and wide enough to catch the grease that may fall off the tray in front. Grease drippings on the cement will inevitably mean a power wash every so often so this will save me time. Was able to easily sweep off the ash and washed it by just rinsing it with water. I can also use this on my wood deck when I need a bit more shelter. From the pic you can see the tire marks that left a trail of dust as it was rolling over the mat, but that's what black does. Overall solid mat.

This mat has the look and feel of being the same materials used to make fireproof bags.It's nicer and heavier than expected, especially at this price point.Unfortunately, and this isn't the fault of the product itself, this type of fireproof material attracts and holds dirt, so although it looks great out of the bag, it won't be easy to keep clean.The workmanship is good, with a nice perimeter trim.This mat will work well under, or in front of, any bbq or firepit.I hope this helps. This grill mat was placed under my pellet smoker to keep any drippings off the composite decking. It's the perfect size and while I haven't had any drippings fall on it yet, it repels rainwater, and it rolls off easily when a corner of the mat is lifted. It not as thick as I was expecting but it is made up of several different layers.For the time I've used the mat and the fact that it's not so thick standing on it, I do recommend this grill mat. I will update if/when I get my first mess.
