Next Level Racing Flight Simulator Cockpit: Boeing Commercial Edition (NLR-S027)

I was absolutely blown away at the quality of this seat. I have a full HOTAS setup with pedals and MFDs that I use primarily for DCS. Assembly was easy. 10/10. There are written instructions that a really good, but you can also watch one of several videos that they have to walk you through the assembly process. Hardware is primarily M8 with a few M5, so not many tools required. The do give you the standard throwaway tools, but do yourself a favor and use your own. Setup was a breeze, as well. 10/10. There are many options in terms of stick location and keyboard location, and you will have parts left over. I tried multiple mounting positions before I landed on the center stick/side elevated keyboard configuration that just felt right. I use VR, so I was birdboxing around for the first few hours, but I was able to adjust all of the controls so that they matched their locations in VR space. Quality is top notch. 10/10. I am 5'10" and weigh about 230lbs and this thing supports my weight without even a whimper. Getting in and out of the seat can be a bit of a trick, but even when I am lifting myself out and putting my full weight against the back rest, there are no creaks, cracks, or groans that might indicate that I am finding a weak spot. When I am vigorously working the controls, they are brick house solid. There is no sense that they are mounted to a frame. The lack of any flex in the mounting really adds to the immersive experience that you expect from a sim pit of this caliber. Comfort is really good, but for me it could be better. 9.5/10. As I said before, I am on the bigger side, so I might be just a bit outside the design parameters, but I do get some discomfort after a few hours in the seat. That said, there are adjustments just like you have in your car. The seat slides forward and back and the back reclines to a near flat angle. There is a faux sheep wool cover on the seat that is of a higher quality than you might expect. I use a similar cover on my motorcycle seat when I am doing long distance touring. It's great for support and air flow. There is also a fairly substantial lumbar support included. I thought that I might just set that aside, but it really does enhance the comfort of the seat. Value overall is good. 9/10. I've had a lot of good things to say about this chair and the high praise is on par with the price they are asking. Looking for a premium, no BS sim experience on a solid, aesthetically pleasing platform? These guys have it nailed.

Best part of this seat is the endless customization that you can do. All the parts are high quality and I couldn’t be happier. One slight annoyance is that this is sold as a commercial airline seat but the setback goes all the way to your head as a head rest. In a simulator this actually limits tilting your head back to look up at panels. It’s fine for use in a military sim but doesn’t allow all the range of motion you need in a commercial airline sim. If you fly VR in an airliner, this might not be the seat for you. But the quality is outstanding. PS: I have flown airliners and speak from experience.

Love this commercial level cockpit so much. I still remember my wife’s face when that huge box arrived on our doorstep. “wow.” She said. “Where will you put that?” Seriously, this this will take up some room so have your space prepared. The cockpit comes with floor stoppers that screw into the bottom however you could just as easily trade those out for 6 heavy duty locking caster wheels (not included). That way it could roam in and out of the way if the only space you have is in your living room… or if your wife kicked you and it out of the house. The chair is very customizable. So much so that I recommend reading the directions entirely before putting it together so you fully understand your options. The pictures on the site don’t do the customizability justice. I found building took a lot of time in disassembly just because I opened the next page and discovered more options which also gave me wife time to consider her options. I’ll be honest, my intention with getting this chair is to get the motion expansion pieces made by this same company. When I showed my wife how much that stuff cost I think… I think that’s when my stuff started flying out the window…. But I’ll tell you what I told her. This is a small investment now so I can have a bigger home motion set up later. Didn’t help me but maybe it helps you. If you’re not interested in expanding into the motion side of things then this is still a great chair but this may not necessarily be your best option. If you are interested in getting some motion, this is 100% the cheapest* pathway to it. *Divorce may increase initial cost. Seek financial or marriage counselor for your options.* The whole chair is pretty comfortable. It has to be since I sleep in it now. It even reclines and moves back and forth like a real car or airplane. Unfortunately it doesn’t recline all the way flat so if you want to sleep in it, you’ll have to be okay with sitting up somewhat. I’ll take some pictures of my set up as soon as the judge tells her she has to let me back in. Maybe the garage. But the summary of my set up is as follows: I clamped a dual monitor panel made by Flight Velocity (FVPRO4) along with a honeycomb alpha and bravo to the space in front of the chair . This is a lottttt of weight. With the panel, monitors, cables, and both sets of flights controls this was way more weight than they had in mind for a single. Yet, it still works pretty well and is sturdy. This really isn’t how they ‘intended’ this product be used but is a testament to the cockpit’s versatility. I also use my TPR Expert Rudder pedals which screwed into the base easily. I’m taking off one star because a single screw was missing from where the chair back is screwed into the base. This screw also manages to elude the hardware store so, as you can imagine, the majority of my life’s problems are centered around that right now. All in all, a great buy and I do appreciate that it’s cheaper than the $1100 version by the same company. Maybe that’ll get her to take me back.

This is a great flight sim rig, super comfortable it is the perfect set up, please not that If you plan to get or use the Honey Comb Charley Rudder it will not fit as the base of the rudder is massive and way out of the rigs base so you can’t bold down the pedals to the rig.

What huge waste of time. I bought and built this expecting it to work with high end $500 components like honeycomb throttles Bravo with Alpha yoke with bolt on fastening. It also does not work with the $500 TPR rudder pedals. Calls to Next Level were impossible and emails went unanswered and no chat - they isolate themselves from their customers. I was hoping for more than what I got - thankfully I had FREE return with amazon so I sent it back. I clamped the yoke and throttle to a desk and my kid used his gaming chair and he was just as happy as could be. I tried to build an awesome flight sim using this next level product and it did not work out - this system may work with cheaper discount level components but it did not work for any of the expensive accessories I bought. The throttles were literally at my right hip - had to look straight down toward the floor to see the throttles - and I needed another elbow on my right arm to operate the throttle... NOT DESIGNED FOR HONEYCOMB BOEING. one more thing - the seat was impossible to adjust, the springs were very stiff.

I've been looking forward to this set up for a while. I can't commit to a simpit specific to a particular aircraft because there are just too many out there to choose from. I use both MSFS and DCS in VR, so want to swap around set ups fairly easily. (No, not concerned about quickly.) I figured with all the default connections/tables/arms/braces I would be able to use all my equipment. Let me break it down for you potential clients, so you don't end up in some awkward position trying to utilize your toys: The "good:" 1. The TM pendular pedals work perfectly. But, once they're set, it's not easy to adjust. That's fine, since those are all I use. 2. The TM Airbus stick and throttle quadrant fit nicely on the side tables. I have the flap/spoiler in addition to a dual throttle set up. 3. The TM Boeing yoke sits in an ergonomic position. The height is adjustable, and it's easy to move the seat forward and back for it to be comfortable. 4. The TM HOTAS stick mounts perfectly in the center position. 5. The TM HOTAS throttle mounts perfectly on the side "table." 6. The honeycomb Alpha controls mount to the same clamp base as the Boeing yoke. The "meh:" 1. The TM Boeing throttle quadrant takes up the entire side "table." Granted, I have two side by side which are used as 4 eng, spoiler, and flap levers. I have to use a stack of boxes behind that table to put a mouse on. 2. There is no way to easily mount the TM HOTAS stick on the side without either re-mounting the base plate (which is removed for the center mount), or possibly drilling extra holes in the side table. An side mount with the square steel opening would have been nice. I guess I'll have to fab my own. The "well this sucks:" 1. The honeycomb Bravo is basically useless, as there is no proper way to mount it in the correct position. (See pictures) Even as far forward as it can go with the given forward angled arm raised to it's maximum height, the Bravo throttle levers are just too far back. The throttles at idle are 8-10" from the seat back, and that is with the seat as far back as possible. I'll have to fab a different table mount setup for the Bravo. Stats: I'm 6'3" but even then have the seat about midway forward with the pedals as far as back as they can go. I also have almost a hundred hours of complex twin time and can tell you that if you want to duplicate the human factor approve "feel" of where things should be, you will probably have a lot of trouble if you use the honeycomb Bravo. Not sure what the license fees are, but a generic (yet company approved) seat that can't accommodate all the different controls available is definitely not worth the hefty price tag.

Chair has great construction, instructions easy to follow. My only complaint is there's no dedicated arm for the Honeycomb Bravo, and using one of the hotas/mouse plates makes one side of the chair blocked from being able to sit down. It could be comfier, I wouldn't recommend using it as a daily driver if you are on the heavier side like I am (220lbs / 5'8") the cushion is just too firm. The lumbar support is nice though, and the chair can fold pretty far forward which is a nice change from gaming chairs. Honeycomb alpha mounted nicely. The yoke mounting pole can fold forward the get in and out of the chair easier, though TPR pedals will get in the way. Instructions for mounting TPR pedals only tell you how to attach the adapter and even then those instructions feel incomplete. I recommend getting the separate keyboard/mouse stand rather than using the builtin ones for this chair, so you can move the keyboard for other games. Overall happy with the purchase. Reclaimed desk space that can be used for a Garmin suite.

Did not want to spend so much money but glad i did this is a good quality product. It is well designed and it fits together well. It takes some time and patience but the wait and work are worth it. I have a lot of hours in this seat and have yet to regret this purchase. the plates for the controls are sturdy and well designed. If you purchase this sim seat you will not regret it.

Assembly took about an hour but I'm super happy wit the result. It's a great addition to my flight sim.

Expensive? Not for what you get! This flight sim seat is the absolute best you will get short of a rig that costs thousands. Highly recommended

Sehr solide, mit minimalem handwerklichen Geschick gut aufzubauen. Mein Sim ist im Keller, für die Treppe brauchte ich n zweiten Mann, der Aufbau war alleine nach ca. 3 Std erledigt. Es sind für alle möglichen Hersteller von Steuergeräten Teile dabei, dazu kann ich nichts sagen da ich für mein Yoke und die Rudderpedals von Brunner etwas selber bauen mußte - die Grundlage dafür ist aber auch gut. Was mir fehlt: - Armlehnen. Hört sich nach nem Luxusproblem an, aber es erleichtert präzises und gefühlvolles fliegen enorm (ich war früher Berufspilot und kanns nicht lassen). - Wenn rechts und links Throttle, Halterung fürs iPad, Tastatur und Maus angebaut sind ist der Einstieg mühsam, da würde ich mir etwas zum wegklappen wünschen. - Aufrollautomatik für die Schultergurte. - Position für Honeycomb Bravo Throttle zu tief und zu weit hinten, da das Gerät in der Szene vermutlich weit verbreitet ist, sollte man da auf jeden Fall nachbessern. Ich habe ein Provisorium aus Holz gebaut, sieht aber „plünnich“ aus und kommt auf jeden Fall wieder weg. - Kaffeebecherhalter - jetzt wirds dekadent, fände ich aber richtig cool, und würde ich sofort kaufen :-) Der Sitzkomfort ist dem des Originals sehr ähnlich, nach spätestens drei Stunden sollte man mal frischen Kaffee holen. Obwohl ich einiges verbessern würde, ganz wichtig die Position für den Throttlequadrant, spreche ich eine Kaufempfehlung aus.
