OontZ Angle 3 Ultra Gen 4 Bluetooth Speaker, 14W, 20-Hour Playtime, IPX7

This is the best quality portable speaker I have ever owned. And I've tried several. I bought two of these. One for me and one for someone else. We have had them for over two years now. Neither has ever failed. The sound isn't Bose but it is still pretty awesome considering it is only 14 watts. Must be due to the superior work inside the speaker. The sound really is very good. I have cranked this speaker up to its maximum volume and there was no distortion. The sound quality remained excellent. I also often use this speaker for watching movies on my laptop. Rarely are speakers, on a laptop, fantastic. So, this portable speaker allows me to have a more immersive experience while I'm streaming a show or movie on my laptop. The sound is amazing for this as well. The battery life is amazingly long. It really is 20 hours of continuous play! What I like about it is that if you stop playing your music, but forget to turn the speaker off, eventually it will turn itself off, which saves on the battery. Additionally, it charges back up pretty fast. It always quickly connects to whatever device I'm pairing it with. This includes my laptop or my phone. And its promise of a 100 foot range has been tested multiple times. This surprised me and I was glad to see that it delivered on this promise. It's triangular design makes it more stable and less likely to be knocked over (better center of gravity). It's weight is lighter than other portable speakers I've owned. To the point where it is light enough to carry, in one hand, while going on a long walk (if you want to take your music with you and listen to it). It really is that light. And, the triangular design makes it easier to carry around. The cover for its connections works very well to keep it waterproof. However, the cover is still easy to open which isn't always true for waterproof devices. Also, this cover is attached to the device. This means when you temporarily take it off to charge it (or connect with wires), you won't lose the cover. It says it can go under 3 feet of water. I haven't tested this out but do bring it into the shower daily. Its waterproof rating means that shower water running over it won't harm the speaker. I'm hoping, in the future, to have an opportunity to test it under water! If nothing else, I'd like to take it to the beach. That's another reason why this is an excellent speaker - you have to be really careful on taking any electronics to the beach, even if you don't plan on taking it into the water. Why? Normally, these things can ruin an electronic: the salty air, the sand, and any unintended splashes with salt water. However, this speaker would be perfect for the beach because it's built to withstand all of this! Another great feature about this speaker is you can connect multiple ones together to give yourself surround sound. Considering the incredibly reasonable price of these speakers, it makes it more reasonable (cost-wise) to do this. The controls, on the side, or easy to read and very easy to use. I highly recommend this speaker. It will last for a long time and will deliver everything it promises.

I’ve owned the OontZ Angle since the first generation, then upgraded to the second generation, and now the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra. Over the years, the improvements have been easy to notice. Pros ● Much better durability: My first- and second-generation speakers both developed charging port issues after about a year, but I’ve had the OontZ Angle 3 Ultra since 2020 with no charging problems at all. The build feels noticeably sturdier. ● Impressive sound for its size: It delivers clear vocals, balanced mids and highs, and enough bass to keep music enjoyable without sounding muddy. ● Compact and portable: It’s easy to carry, yet still produces a surprisingly full sound. ● Good value for money: You get a durable, portable Bluetooth speaker with reliable performance and sound that punches above its size. Mine has held up well for several years, which makes it a worthwhile investment. Cons ● Earlier generations had charging port issues after about a year. ● If you’re comparing it to newer, larger speakers, the compact size naturally limits how much bass and volume it can produce. Overall, if you’ve used earlier OontZ Angle models, the Angle 3 Ultra is a clear step up in build quality, reliability, and long-term value.

My luck with wireless Bluetooth speakers has been hit-or-miss over the years ... but mostly miss. Even some of the more expensive ones I've tried have been woeful. I can live with a shorter battery life if I have to, but I do not want to sacrifice sound quality. And unfortunately, in my experience, most speakers fall short in that respect. HOWEVER, the OontZ Ultra is (for me) the best of all possible worlds and is surprisingly amazing! I was a little wary about ordering these, because I wasn't particularly familiar with the OontZ brand. However, after doing some online research and reading the reviews, I realized that I've apparently living under a rock. What first attracted me was the price. Speakers run the gamut in terms of cost, and while I wanted a solid set of portable speakers for my master bathroom, I didn't want to spend a fortune. The fact that these were an affordable mid-range option put them right in my sweet spot. The sound quality is shockingly good! I'm not an audio geek, so I can't speak to all the technical specs, but I DO know good sound when I hear it. I want crisp, clear treble and a deep, resonant base, without any tinniness or muffling. And these tick all those boxes in spades! Particularly compared to cheap little Bluetooth radio I'd been using, this is a whole new world of sound. The water resistance was another huge plus for me, since I wanted to use these in the bathroom when I was getting ready in the morning. I haven't tried to immerse them in the water or anything, but I do keep it perched on one of the shelves in the shower, so it's being regularly splashed. After a couple of months of daily use in the shower, it's still going strong. The battery life far exceeds anything I'd have expected. I probably should have measured how many hours I get on a single charge, but I generally only have to charge it about once a week. I'd guesttimate that I average at least 10-12 hours of playtime on a single charge? And when I do need to recharge it, it charges fairly quickly. I loved it so much, I bought a second one to pair with it, for a FULL stereo effect! This was the first time I'd ever paired multiple Bluetooth speakers, so it took me a few minutes to figure out the process (it would have taken less time if I'd have read the directions), but it was well worth the effort. After the initial pairing, when both speakers are turned on, they automatically re-pair on their own, which is incredibly handy. I LOVE my OontZ Ultra speakers!

So I have been using the black OontZ Angle 3 Ultra daily for almost 7 years as a shower speaker and this thing was a trooper. It survived several years of my shower head being terrible and completely soaking it and several more years after that where it didn’t get quite as wet. The main reason I got this specific speaker is I wanted separate volume and track skip buttons. Nothing infuriates me more than having to guess if it’s hold to skip track or hold to adjust volume (I prefer hold to skip track) and having separate buttons takes the guesswork out of it. The sound quality of my original Angle 3 Ultra is perfect. It has a nice balanced sound with not too much bass or too little. My only issue with it is that increasing the volume scales the power linearly meaning each increase in volume is exponentially less effective than the last. Towards the higher end of the volume you almost don’t even notice the volume change and towards the lower end the volume changes a lot. About a week ago my constant subjugation of the speaker to water finally resulted in its first electrical problem. Every time I powered it off it would immediately turn itself back on no matter what I did and I had to forget the Bluetooth connection to stop it from pairing with my phone. Immediately I got online and saw that this beautiful blue version of the speaker I have been using for years was on sale for the same price as the black version and I took it as a sign to buy a new one. As for my old one I left the flap open and left it in a tub of desiccant packs (I 3D print) and thankfully it started functioning normally allowing me to compare my older model of the Angle 3 Ultra to the 4th gen version. One thing I should get specify right off the bat is that I am NOT an audiophile. I cant tell the difference between mp3 or high quality lossless audio and subtle differences in EQ are usually lost on me. However the new Angle 3 Ultra has noticeably less bass. It’s not bad enough to be outright fail. As a shower speaker I am not going to notice the difference at all. Even listening to it in a completely silent room you can get to a point where you are able to ignore the lack of bass. It kinda has the EQ of a good quality modern phone speaker. My theory as to why this change in EQ has occurred is that my old Angle 3 Ultra if I recall correctly was rated IPX5 while the new one is rated IPX7. The added water resistance of the newer gen is likely the cause of the decreased bass. I’m going to keep this, as it will still be perfect for me as a shower speaker. But I might look at other options the next time I have to replace it. I’ll also probably continue to use my old one when I’m not in the shower.

Great little speaker. Long battery life (last all day). Sound quality is comparable to other quality small speakers. I like the ability to pair speakers. Have used as stereo (2), and as surround (3-4). Also good to link to use in multiple rooms. Very versatile. Overall very satisfied. Worth the price. Was always a fan of Cambridge Soundworks products. One small critique is that in multi-room pairing of more than 2 speakers, it has to be programmed each time speakers are turned on. Also have to remember which speaker is Host (important). When you have just 2 speakers paired, it remembers the setting when turned on.

REVIEW OF: OONTZ ANGLE 3 ULTRA SUP BLUE COLOR: If you buy ONE speaker for your shower, THIS IS THE ONE!. I listen to mostly rock and pop at max volume and I am a true audiophile. These will NOT disappoint you. I suggest you buy 2 for optimal enjoyment as this allows better stereo separation. PROS: 1) excellent battery life - more than 12 hours at MAX volume 2) superb sound given its tiny footprint. it is SMALL so the bass will not be palpable, but it is quite adequate in a small enclosed space such as a shower. 3) yes it IS waterproof enough to survive the shower. 4) AWESOME control buttons, all the functions separate as they should be. Not one button you have to press some magical tough to remember number of times for each task. 5) beauty in its design - love the blue one. 6) best bluetooth connectivity i have ever seen. it connects fast and STAYS connected. 7) easy pairing and you can control both speakers from the master one 8) superb value. CONS: 1) the bass is a bit lacking, but only if you REALLY like bass:) not even worth losing a half a star over. The sound is so good overall it more than compensates for this inherent shortcoming due to its tiny stature. You simply cannot get earthshaking bass without a large behemoth:) This speaker is a thing of beauty for both eyes and ears. Buy it you will love it. One CAUTION: If you stand this speaker up the long way, it will move around at max volume. Jump off shelves and stuff like that. Lay it down the LONG WAY on its rubber footed side so it stays in one place and will not fall down. SUGGESTIONS FOR IMPROVEMENT: 1) make this in more colors and designs - I'd like to see RED and PINK a design similar to the blue /light blue swirl, but with pink swirl on red and red swirl on pink. 2) add some cool LED lights that pulse and change color with the music beat. Comparison to the SONY SRSXB33: The Sony has a bit more bass feel to it, but bear in mind that the SONY is about 4 times the size and weight of the OONTZ and more than double the price. Unless you care about the gimmicky lights (yes they are cool) in the SONY, the OONTZ is far superior simply because of the song control buttons which are 3 separate buttons on the OONTZ, rather than one button and a song and dance about how many times to press it on the SONY. The OONTZ also pairs more reliably and easily to the bluetooth host than does the SONY. Overall max volume and music quality is almost identical on the 2 except the bass is fuller on the SONY due to its greater heft. Battery life is FAR SUPERIOR on the OONTZ - lasting at least 12 hours at MAX vs. 4 on the SONY.

This little speaker had been my outdoor, travel, & vacation speaker for years. Amazon told me I bought it July 2018. I hadn't used it regularly for a few years, because I got involved with another well known speaker brand. This last weekend I brought it out as we were working outside. I HADN'T CHARGED IT FOR MONTHS What a pleasant surprise! It spent about 10 hours playing on day 1 loud enough for 3 people to hear. The comments were " WOW, that sounds good!" This of course isn't going to replace expensive sound systems, or the high end portable speakers. This is an 8 year old speaker, that I hadn't charged for months, and still sounded really good! I felt like I had reconnected with an old friend! As a side note, I keep it in a " Hermit shell" travel case, with its own charging cord and an old IPhone that only plays older albums.

I originally bought the original Oontz Angle 3 a year ago so I could play music in the shower or in the kitchen from my phone or tablet without worry. I wasn't expecting much from a (at the time) $30 blue tooth speaker but the sound quality was really nice for the price. Better yet, after a year it still performs like the day I first got it even after a few drops. So when I saw that Cambridge came out with the Oontz Angle 3 ULTRA and that it was going on sale for the same price as the original Angle 3, I just had to get one. There been some significant improvements over the original Angle 3. - Better design, closer resembling the Oontz Angle 3 XL. - Added track selection buttons on the speakers. - Splash proof. While I don't necessarily feel it any better than the original's, it always nice knowing I can put these in a bathroom or kitchen without having to freak out if they happen to get a little wet. - Better base. While the original Angle 3 had good sound quality and decent base, the ULTRA pumps up the base to the next level, all the while never at the cost of becoming distorted at max volumes. The ULTRA lives up to the "Oontz" brand name as it can actually produce base you can FEEL. I have a set in my bedroom about 3 feet from the foot of my bed and I can feel every beat in my foot board easily. Surprised the hell out of me the first time, I'm a little amazed how much they improved the base in a unit that's only slightly bigger than the original. - Speaker Pairing. A main reason I gave the ULTRA a shot was due to the fact it has the option to pair with another ULTRA speaker, something that was only available from the $80-$130 Angel 3 XL. While I had a little trouble initially pairing two ULTRAs together, they were never a problem once they were. You're given the option of having a dedicated Left and Right speaker for a stereo set up or you can do a duel stereo on each speaker which is ideal if you moving back and forth between two rooms and want to enjoy music or an audio book uninterrupted. - Better Bluetooth range. On the original Angle 3, if I were to leave my phone or tablet in my bedroom and then move my speaker to the kitchen which was about 40ft away through two thick walls the speaker would start to lose connection and break up. Not a problem for the ULTRA, and the same goes for paring between two speakers. I can now leave a speaker in my bed room and bring one into the kitchen and have no problem playing audio on both no matter what room my device is in. That all said, there still could be some improvements. When paired, turning off the main speaker (the "left" speaker) will turn both off, but turning it back on won't turn them both back on. That's is a significant oversight in my book. Also I occasionally have issue with my devices recognizing the speakers, especially if I have more than one device paired to them and I want to switch between them, but that might have more to do with my devices than the speakers themselves. Worse comes to worse, you'll have to repair but it doesn't happen very often. Finally and this is more of a tongue in cheek criticism but they kind of make the original Angle 3 obsolete. As I write this the Ultra is $33 and the original is $25. At those price ranges, the $7 you save by getting an original Angle 3 just isn't worth it because the ULTRA provides so much for only several dollars more. Honestly, If the ULTRA is going to be $30-$33 depending on sales, I wouldn't pay more than $15 for the original Angle 3 and considering how often they go on sale I sure you'll see one for about $20, but that still seems high... Then we have the other end of the spectrum. Up to now I was really debating on getting a $130 Oontz Angle XL, mainly for the increase performance and pairing feature. And while knowing it often goes on sale for around $75, I still probably won't get one now that there's the ULTRA at less than half the price. Granted, I'm sure the XL even crazier in performance, loudness, etc.. but the ULTRA does such a good job as is that unless I start hosting huge outdoor parties regularly, I don't have have a need or desire for it anymore. Two ULTRAs do a hell of a job already providing loud high audio quality music in any of my home's rooms so unless the XL starts going on sale in the $60 range, I'm good. But who knows, that might happen when Cambridge comes out with a Angle 3 XXL or XL ULTRA or roll out with an Angle 4 line of speakers. Overall the Oontz Angle 3 is a solid choice for a Bluetooth speaker. It's built well, sounds terrific, will hold up to test of time, can be paired and is water resistant, all at a fair price (if bought for it often sale price of $30).

• Exceptional and richer sound quality in its range. • Bass is incredible and lets you enjoy the entire low to mid to high range without damaging your experience. • Surprisingly clear at max volume. • It comes in basic packing for well protection along with a standard micro-USB cable and 3.5mm male-to-male cable. • When handled the feel is premium with solid and rubberized sides. • Controls are good with raised symbols that can be felt when lighting is low. • It dances its way around while on a hard surface at high volumes with high bass ;-) • Simple to pair. Speaker and microphone during phone calls are also of good quality • The battery easily lasts more than 20 hours when played under 50% of its peak volume  By IPX6 rating, it is nice to know that it is water resistant and it can be splashed on while by a pool or a beach or more likely water spill on it. I did not test it after getting addicted to its sound quality. o A battery level indicator would have been a nice addition o Sometimes the Bluetooth audio has continuous interruptions in playback when it resumes music playback after a phone call. Maybe a firmware upgrade can fix it.

Great sound quality, no distortion even at max volume, very good fidelity and frequency response, full and reach sound, with enough bass, clear mids and highs. Battery life is great, no connectivity issues. Surprisingly loud for it's size, though it's more adequate for interior than for outdoor. It has a short delay between sound and image on video, but software update solves that. Nice design, sturdy enough for everyday use (mine has been fall from the table cause of vibrations from the bass and it still works). I own the first speaker for about a year and bought the second a month ago. Two of these paired in left-right mode is a very good job, they sounds a lot better, with even more clear sound, volume and true stereo separation. I think you can't get anything better for the money.

Ascolto molta musica ma non sono un esperto di casse/acustica. Questa cassa (la prima che ho acquistato del genere) è fantastica: il suono è ottimo, anche a volume alto, e la potenza è sorprendente. Ne ho acquistato una seconda per un familiare.
