I can 100% confirm what some people have said before posting this review. The quality of these controllers is questionable. The unit i purchased came marked with only Chinese symbols. You could not access the terminals unless you stripped off the perforated outer cover. The unit had no fuse protection. The Chinese company who manufactures these controllers have a non existent QA system IMO. Worse still, the controller does not act like a quality dimmer.......this unit dims the light but does not go as far as reduces the light. You can turn the controller off but the light stays on !!!!!! A marvel of modern Chinese manufacturing......Within 2 hours of receiving the item I had already processed its return to Amazon for a full refund. Thank You AMAZON !!

Just what I wanted. Will regulate mains supply to heater incandescent light circuits etc. Note they do not regulate fans very well and are not really suitable (they take a while before the fan operates and then very quickly goes to full speed). This is the same for all Triac based mains regulators, so not really a fault.

This product works in much the same way as a household dimmer switch by placing a variable resistor in between the supply and appliance. It will never completely shut the supply of to an appliance. In the example I have wired it up for I wanted to reduce the speed my ran at. It works fine for that but it is not an on/off switch.

Got this to slow a fan down which was too noisy and it works perfectly.

THIS BLEW UP IN MY FACE UPON INSPECTION THE VARIAC WAS TOUCHING THE OUTER SHELL WHICH MADE IT LIVE AND WAS WRAPPED UP IN ELECTRICAL TAPE, VERY CHEAP AND COULD SERIOUSLY INJURY SOME ONE OR CAUSE DEATH AMAZON SHOULD TAKE THIS SELLER OFF THERE SYSTEMS AND REPORT THEM AMAZON ONLY OFFERED A GIFT VOUCHER BACK Followed the instructions which was converted from Chinese to English badly I may add caused an explosion and tripped my house, it went bang in my face, I looked at the diagram being an electrician and thought that can't be right all and be hold I was right managed to get it working for the device to fail half way through and has caused myself a bigger headache AVOID AT ALL COST

I connect this to 2000W motor,after 10-15 minutes switch was extremely hot and cut power off.

The quality of the soldering is very poor, I suspect this might be a problem in time.

well to be honest , I thought it didn't work, until I noticed that it is a 220 volt controller and not a 120 volt controller. so a little humbled, this is indeed a fine controller for it intended use.

The first day I tested it with 400 Watt motor it worked ok. The next day nothing is happening the Input and output are the same i couldn't regulate the voltage for the motor to reduce RPM.
