Intex Surface Skimmer Frame Set Pool Bracket

I purchased a skimmer that included this bracket early last year. The bracket lasted about two weeks before it deformed and became useless, just as so many other reviewers have shared.I ordered a new one (June 2016). I intended to modify it before using it, but it looks like Intex has finally responded to all the complaints by adding extra ribs to reinforce the weak spots. I installed this unit and turned on the 1.5 horsepower pump. The skimmer didn't twitch like it did with the old bracket, so I am hoping this bracket stays put. I've added a photo of my old bent unit next to the new one with the extra plastic and ribbing so you can see the upgraded design.

It will crack soon if not the first time you install it. The plastic is too brittle for this type of stress. To repair or avoid breaking right away.Go to local auto parts store. Buy a quart of automotive body filler. Mix as directed1/4 of the can. Fill one side of the open ribs down the side. The large ones at the top is where it will break first. This stuff sets up in about 3 min. So move it in fast.With a putty knife remove excess before it sets. Its messy and gets hot as it sets up. Lay it down sticky side up.Let it cool and then do the other side the same way.After both sides set up. I think you could torque the thing down so tight it will strip the threads.No cracks.It aint pretty to look at. I suppose you could paint it. But like the old timers say. "Chrome dont get you home". Oh by the way. Be sure to back the thumb screws off all the way or cover them with tape.You dont want to fowl the threads with filler.

Improved design is the perfect solution to our skimmer basket problem! As shown in photographs by a previous reviewer, the intex clamp "spreads" at the top over time, and so the skimmer basket cannot be clamped tightly to the side of the pool. The basket floats up, air gets sucked into the pump, and everything has to be shut off. Wedging an old flip flop under the plastic"bolts" only worked so long. The new design with reinforcement at the top curve should help prevent this warping/spreading of the clamp.It is REALLY hard to find intex pool parts anywhere, and when you do, you usually have to purchase more than you need (e.g., they wanted to sell us the entire skimmer basket assembly, with basket and hoses, when all we needed was this clamp). The price of this part was very reasonable, and with prime shipping, we got it in two days. It's on the pool and working exactly as we hoped. No more hopping out of the pool to get air out of the pump!

I am very impressed replacement parts were available for this skimmer! Not a high dollar item to start with, it makes a huge difference constanting removing items that fall into the pool. (I was ready to but a full replacement kit)This is an original replacement part, really important since in full sun the plastic parts can become very brittle. Replace the part in only seconds! Approved!

This is, quite possibly, the worst product ever made. You can count on it cracking at least once or twice every summer. It is always loosening and causing pump to fill up with air, which in turn causes it to loose its suction. You then have to re-tighten the bracket, holding your breath I won't crack, then re-prime the pump. Based on everything I have read this is the only simmer available that fits my 12 x 24 x 12 Intex Rectangular Ultra Set Pool. If you have this pool, make sure you have at least 3 of these brackets on hand every summer. The whole skimmer system depends on this bracket. This is my 3rd summer using this system. If there was rating less than one star that's what I would give this product.

This is an updated model from the one sold with my original skimmer kit. Much better design! It holds tight onto the top rail of the Intex pool where the original model did not. It has more reinforcement in the curve area to stop it from opening up when clamped tight. Otherwise, it is a direct replacement part that fits like the original.

Exactly as headlined. After 7 years, the original broke. This was several bucks cheaper than anywhere else after shipping was included. Hooked the bad boy right up to existing skimmer. Very pleased.

I bought this hoping it would last a season. The last one I bought didn't this one looks to be the same. It is just a bad design. the plastic is too weak to hold the shape and it keeps popping off the pool rail. I wish there was a better option. The skimmer works great but the design of the arm that holds it is bad.

Non ho capito se si tratti di pezzo originale o meno (non esiste alcuna dicitura) ma funziona egregiamente. Aderisce perfettamente al bordo della piscina a fa bene il suo lavoro.
