The great thing about games like these are that they are compact and portable and there’s not bags and bags of tokens and meeples and dice etc.If you like the TV show, then you already know what the premise of the game is and the translation of it into a card game has been quite successfully done.Everyone can play at once, and you could play with just two people though it’s much more fun with more people. You reveal a card to everyone playing and then as soon as you think you know the answer you slam your hand down on the ‘buzzer card’ to claim your chance to give your guess.The person guessing then turns the card over to check if they were right and if they were, they score the points. If they weren’t correct, then they replace the card for the remaining players to take a turn at guessing it.If no one guesses a card correctly, it is discarded and a new card selected.It is suggested that you play six rounds in this way before introducing the Bonus Game.In this round, you scan the QR code on the bonus card and it will bring up a picture just like on the TV show with six ‘reveal’ tiles.To have a go at removing a tile you need to get a basic catchphrase card correct first and then choose a tile to remove. These are fiendishly tricky to guess from the first tile and the ‘host’ for this part of the game (the one with the lowest score) can check the answer in order to respond to the guess.If you’re playing with quite a few players then they can all earn chances at removing a tile and taking a guess, but for the entirety of that Bonus game, the ‘host’ is unable to try a guess because they will already have seen the answer.With just two players, when we had a go, we modified this part so that while one was the host, the other kept removing tiles and guessing but with a reduction in the points you would win after each wrong guess.If you are playing without internet access and can’t scan the QR code, then there is an alternative option of sliding a card into a sleeve with a cover card on top, and then gradually sliding the cover card out to reveal a slice of the picture at a time .All in all, I’d say it was quite a good game, we liked the bonus animated bit a lot, love the portability and simplicity of it, the only downside being that like a lot of this type of game, once you’ve played all the cards once, you can’t really play them again.At least not with the same group of people.Hope you found my review helpful and have fun playing !

As a massive fan of the show I brought these to play with my family at Christmas, instructions were easy to follow and each card comes a QR code for a digital bonus catchphrase.Unfortunately we found it very hard to play in a group as the cards were so small that it was hard for everyone to see it and people were getting frustrated as by the time they saw the card someone else had already guessed it.I think it would be best to play with 3 or 4 people, any more doesn't work.

Just like to show it has images for each player to guess the catchphrase. Box ideal for travelling and journeys. Lots of fun. Cards of good quality so ideal for family games.
