the included screws were too long for my 1-3/8" door, but otherwise it installed without difficulty. smooth operation, included 5 keys and a spade drill bit for cutting the required hole. recommended.

Now this is a sick ass lock super strong the key is cool and unique really easy to install drill a couple little holes I like that you don't need the big circle hole and due to the style you don't have to match it up with any other like holes such as like the inside of another door frame it just goes on the outside perfect for my trailer... Living here and crack alley I got to be burglary proof as possible

Bought two of these locks in may of 2026 for my yard, they are a nice weight an appear to be good quality. It’s now August and both gate locks have frozen up I could not get the lock to open without a friend using the key and I was inside turning the knob at the same time. It’s a hazard, a kid wouldn’t have been able to get out

I purchased a Gate Mate lock in early 2024 for my shed door, and after about two years of use, the lock stuck and I had to break into my shed to get inside. The key would not work, and after I got in, I tested the lock mechanism further. The handle started sticking, and the other keys also began binding. For the price, I would have expected this lock to last much longer than two years. Unfortunately, I’m disappointed with the durability and would not feel confident recommending it based on my experience only if someone was in a quick pinch for a decent lock. Edited: After dismantling the lock, the geared mechanism was binding up. I applied some gear oil to the assembly, which loosened everything up. I hate the fact that I had to break into the building, but now I will apply the oil every 6 months to prevent this from happening again.

Lock is sturdy. Directions are good. Comes with the tools you need. I like how the locking chamber is one piece. We spent HOURS trying to install one of those locks with a rod you had to cut to fit. Never worked. Junk. This one is so much simpler and much sturdier. While the issue we had with this lock was the post was too thick so we had to carve it up. That’s our issue - not the locks. I’ve also seen pictures of people having to add wood. Either way wouldhighly recommend

Heavy duty well made great finish. Would be great if you could actually remove the key when you turn the lock. Either direction you have to turn back half way.

Love this lock. Classes up my crappy fence. Only issue was a lack of skill on my part. You have to make sure you drill perfectly straight (parallel) through the gate to fit the lock otherwise it won't work well. Lock is strong, plenty of spare keys, and great that you can lock and unlock from both sides. Inside you don't need the key.

Why did you choose this product over others?: Fitted to a double door shed, one on each door due to the convenient reversible long throw option. A very tidy appearance on the outside of the doors, convenient thumb turn to lock doors from the inside. Straightforward to fit and secures the doors nicely. The supplied drill bits are a bonus and worked well. As shed doors aren’t very thick, although mine were 28mm log lap, a piece of wood for packing (plywood, pine .. whatever you have) needs to be added to the inside of the shed doors to ensure the external part of the lock finishes tidily outside the shed. Also when sizing that piece of wood watch where the lock fittings attach to, or go through it; don’t get that wrong like me and put screws through the padding piece which get in the way!!! Use the supplied template to check. They are a very long throw as described and this provides a secure lock across the 2 doors. Or very secure if you double up the locks at different heights on the doors. BTW My shed has extra height doors - 2 metres - so that is why I doubled up.

The lock is very good quality. The pin has a little rust mark on it but otherwise all good. Just needed to touch up with some anti rust paint.
