Absolutely the EASIEST printer set up EVER !
I took this printer out of the box, plugged the power cord it into the wall, plugged the USB cable into the printer and computer, turned on the printer, set English and USA on the panel. That's it. I brought up a recipe file and printed it. I have an iMAC M4 running Sequoia. Evidently the driver was already in the computer. Fast, beautiful printing.

Great printer at a great price
This printer is amazing. Great price, easy setup. I highly recommend it. The printer we replaced was old and had seen better days. This HP 4001, my wife was printing a 2 page document and the printer automatically printed on one piece of paper, both sides, PERFECT.

Taking a "wait and see" attitude
HP makes excellent printers. This one appears to be OKAY and necessary for my needs. It is a bit "flimsy", but, I will continue to use it and see how it works out. My only issue is I wish it came with a "scanner" for paper.

I ordered 3 of these for a client. They kept going into sleep mode and you had to turn it off and back on to print. Seems they have to be connected to the internet and print through TCP/IP or something. This client doesn't have internet ports available right now. Direct USB printing only. One was wouldn't install correctly then died. No reset or screen. Error buttons flashing. No communications.HP knowledge base was zero help. Do not waste your money. I returned all three and the extra sheet feeders with them I ordered. Sad waste of my time and client's time. Now I have hours of messing with these and I cannot bill for that. As the solution failed.

Duplexing is a weakness
Generally a good printer for the price. The 600 dpi resolution is quite good for most printing, but not not as good as my old 1200 dpi HP printer when it comes to reading tiny print. To Duplex, the printer prints all the odd number pages single-sided then you have to flip the stack of pages over and feed it back into the printer so so the printer can print the even numbered pages on the other side rather than printing each sheet front and back as it prints like more expensive printers.
