Amethyst Ashes

Love this color, will be using again.

Long time MP user but first time trying this color. Unlike their other products which are usually very conditioning and smell wonderful, this one reeked of chemicals, was thin and didn't take to my hair consistently. Dried my hair out bad and the end color was absolutely awful. Green and blue splotches. Bought two for my long hair. Out of money and worse -- my hair is damaged and ugly.

Manic Panic is my favorite purple in existence. I use this purple with Artic Foxes Transylvania, to do a split hair color. This purple has heavy saturation, and is holistic and doesn't burn or damage your hair. I leave it in for about 2 hours to achieve the saturation I desire then wash it out with cold a water as I can stand, and continue to use cold water to wash my hair everytime thereafter. It usually keeps the color vibrant and beautiful for 4 to 6 weeks. Then it's time to reapply. For the price I can't complain about a thing, it's perfect for my usage.

Product arrived quickly and as always , it is easy to use. However , I’m used to this color having a violet chrome type of hue. It looked slightly darker than usual but I didn’t think anything of it. Applied the color and on wash out I was disappointed. For some reason this jar is more of a smoky teal/blue town. Not a purple hue in sight. I’ll use it but not what I was planning or hoping for sadly

I've used this since it came out for my grey hair... I've been going grey for 15 mos now and it's a process. this stuff helps keep the yellowing out... I also mix it with a white conditioner and leave it in for a few hours too - works wonders! feels great in my hair too! doesn't deposit a lot of color, just helps the silver become more bright and keeps any yellow away! love it !

Amethyst Ashes? Nah. If you want your hair to look like you're an understudy to one of Jim Henson's Muppets, then, by all means, order this. Gave my hair streaks of Turquiose. I hate that My Little Pony koolaid look. The description was not accurate. Luckily, this stuff doesnt last long, but as it fades, hair turns a sickening vomit green. Easy to use, but that's where the quality ends. As in most things, you get what you pay for.

I am a licensed Cosmetologist, so I know color. I have been using Manic Panic for decades. But these silver/grey tones do not really look like you would expect them to. I have also tried the blue steel and alien grey. The undertones are not really there, they act more like a toner and color deposit is minimal on even lightest blond hair. I love the shine and conditioning they give, like all their semi permanent colors,but for me they fall flat.

Manic panic is the OG off unnatural hair color, and there’sa reason they’ve stayed around for so long. I was excited to find this color, and it’s definitely unique... a great cross between gray, lavender, and traditional purple. The consistency seems a little thicker than the old formula, which helps with application but unfortunately affects the staying power/ absorption.

Worst color of this brand. And I always use manic panic, but this one it's just the worst.

I love manic panic - I really do - I’ve used many different colours mainly to colour my greys (the rest of my hair is dark) I have a streak at the front and it looks good with some colour. But really disappointed in Amethyst ashes - it did nothing. Maybe a vague blue tinge. It’s a shame because all the other colours have worked fine.

The product just doesn’t work. I followed the instructions, no manic color imparted to pet bleached hair apart from rendering a pleasant fragrance ( which I could get using a shampoo or serum too ).
