The end plug can be removed to flush out the oscillating sprinkler to avoid any debris or mineral buildup that could shorten the life of the sprinkler. This is recommended regularly so your oscillating sprinkler will continue to function effectively. No. I water when lawn, gardens, and trees need it. I try not to waste water as I have timers on all outlets.
