Ortur Laser Engraving Platform, DIY Design Aluminum Working Panel 15.75x17.64x0.47 inch High Strength Steel for Fast Heat Dissipation and Desktop-Protecting

I've been using this to dial in my laser, on scrap glass, and the thing has undoubtedly saved my tabletop. Here's a hint at just how much attention to detail went into designing this; there is a slight lip along one edge of each of the four extrusions, that engages with the other edge of the next extrusion, to prevent any gaps that light could get through. The only thing that would make this better would be some alignment guide to, repeatedly, center it within the working area of the laser. Three angle brackets, that hooked into the edge rails, and caught the outside of the frame, one on a side and two on the front to ensure it was square, would make it worth a solid six out of five.

Build quality is excellent, solid performance as laser shield. Bought this to replace honeycomb that kept falling apart. Only drawback of the Ortur product is that it is aluminum and designed so that you cannot apply parts to hold down movement susceptible items. No "dogs", pins or magnet will apply so you have to just rely on positioning and hope lightweight items do not move. My repeated problem was with Lightburn camera alignment cardboard which had some warpage...so the laser hit it at the conclusion of the calibration. Overall I am very pleased with the product and for me, the hold down aspect of the use has not been a problem with production items. I also believe it to be a beautiful product to have on the waste board. It is expensive compared to honeycomb products but I usually buy items like these with Amazon card points. :)

I dont usually write reviews but this platform is a great buy Goes together easy and works great When cutting you can tell your laser is cutting through the material buy the smoke coming out through the grooves in the platform More money than honeycomb beds but worth it

Although the Ortur Laser master 3 is terrible this product works beautifully easy to frame my projects.

Works really well and I loved that you have the L shape to place your item. Just make sure you align it well before hand.

This is a metal platform designed to be used as a backdrop for laser engraving. Fully constructed, the platform measures approximately 12.5”x15.75”, or 320x400mm. The platform is made of metal and has a sliding guide that helps you anchor your materials. The platform is constructed of 4 slats that measure 15.75”x3 1/8” that you must screw together to the edge pieces using 20 screws. While this design reduces the chance of warping, it makes for a heavier piece that takes a bit of time to put together, and it's possible the slats could loosen over time if you don’t get the screws in tight enough. I really like the way that this platform protects my work bench. It seems to perform as well as my honeycomb bed at dissipating heat. But I’m always nervous with the honeycomb about whether the laser will burn through below the honeycomb, so I use a backing board in addition to the honeycomb. This platform is solid, so no laser is going to poke through. I also like the built in guides, which help ensure a solid anchor for my materials. I was a bit surprised that the platform is made of slats rather than a single solid board. The slats took quite a while to fasten together to the side anchors. The platform fits well with my Atomstack S10 Pro. Overall, this platform makes a good backing for a home laser engraver.

Putting these together was easy to do. Appears very well made. But the piece your cutting will get black paint reside on back side of your project. Since I was working on some earrings, I need both sides to look good. The paint on this board melts into a sticky residue. And stinks as your cutting. Should have had taller ribs for more air flow under your project piece and left unpainted.
