Why is 38mm the lowest height you can find for mouse nowadays? Does anyone know of a shorter mouse?

It mainly has to do with the three styles of grip. Claw, palm and knuckle claw. This has the same shape and form as one of their sensei raw models.

Can this mouse work without the usb plugin to the computer? (just directly interface with the pcs bluetooth)

Yes. On the bottom of the mouse there’s a switch that goes left middle right. Bluetooth - Off - 2.4Ghz.
