Mixed Bag
Unfortunately this is not Rockwell 55, mine was only 50 and is already starting to ding up. Not sure how long until it's to dinged up to get accurate measurements off of it. It's a shame because comparing it to my shop's reference square it's right on and nicely machined and ground. If I had known that the heat treatment was bad depending on the steel used there might have been a chance to retemper the steal without losing the accuracy on it. Will have to look elsewhere for one that is both hardened right and is as accurate.

Not a true machinist square
Not bad for my purposes. I doubt any professional machinist would use this though. I use it for truing woodworking machines for which its accuracy is fine, but actual machining no way! They must have added a zero to their accuracy measurements which is in ten thousandths instead of the one thousandths that reflects the actual accuracy of this "machinist" square. I checked it against Mitutoyo products and a registered granite plate. Its out about a thousand or so. There is at least that much dish in the blade. Again, its absolutely fine for setting a jointer fence nice and square or checking the run out on a woodworking drill press or any measurement where a couple of thousandths a tight tolerance. But this square is simply not even close to being true to the 0.0002756 they claim. Remove a zero and that puts you in the 0.002 range which is the reality.

NOT 6"x4"! 1/8" shorter than advertised.
This product is 5 7/8" x 3 7/8". I wouldn't mind too much but it's falsely advertising that it is precisely 6"x4". Unfortunately I didn't use it until after the return window was closed. It is square, but if you're relying on the diminsions, it could be costly. That's the only difference for me making a potentially 5 star product into a 1 star. Always (and unfortunately) check your measuring/layout tools first, because the manufacturers do not.

Really nice square
Very nice machinist's square. The beveled edges make it easy to see out of square items when looking from odd angles. Heavy duty piece that stays where you put it. Comes in a small wood box for protection. The only issue is the advertised measurements are 6x4 inches. Actual measurements are 5 7/8 x 4 7/8 inches. I don't use it for measuring, so that is not an issue for my use.
