Sony ECM-G1 Shotgun Microphone (Battery- and cable-free)

This is a realllly great mic, I’m so glad I bought it. Pretty sure I bought this a good half a year ago or more so I’ve had plenty of use with it. I use with my Sony Zv-e10 with the camera just over an arms length away / generally positioned on a tripod to film talking head and short form. The sound quality is great and also loud, I was using a dji mic mini previously and this trumps those little wireless mics for sure. I also bought this Sony mic for convenience - as a content creator and business owner you need the least amount of friction to film and this really adds to that - with next to no audio fixing needed in edit too. If you edit in prem anyway. I had a few people mention this mic wouldn’t be good and to get something else hit I’m glad I ignored, it’s great and I’ll likely stick to Sony gear from now.

Looks great and better still records great sound! No wires (unless you have a camera that’s not compatible with the interface hot shoe.) Not cheap but I think you get what you pay for both for sound, quality and convenience.

The convenience of just being able to put this on the hot shoe and not connect a cable is brilliant. You loose controls of audio this was as it goes into fully auto mode. The sound it average at best, using a decent rode gets better audio for sure.

This mic is very easy to fit onto a camera ... it couldn't be any easier. Its an upgrade on the cheaper external mics that you can buy, and in my view, its worth the extra money if you have it.

Not sure about this one, overall would prefer a lav mic because audio just wasn't loud enough and background noise was an issue. If I was better at setting up and optimising the audio in software It may have been better as I am no master, but straight out of the box and raw audio was not for me.

For Xperia users, Sony advertises this as a supposed upgrade to Xperia's internal mic and an extra addition to your vlogging kit. When plugged to Vlog Monitor in all my tests it performed good with voice, was loud and clear but picked up immense amount of ambient noise. May be the monitor's fault because when I plugged it directly to my Xperia 1 IV, the ambient noise was mostly suppressed, but unfortunately the voice recorded was way too quiet. Maybe this is better suited for cameras and may possibly sound better via the digital interface hot shoe.

Acheter en seconde main sur amazon. Il y avait écrit comme neuf, emballage abîmé. Eh bien, il est plein de sable sans le mécanisme anti vibration. Il n'est pas reconnu de mon appareil compatible ET cerise sur le gâteau le numéro de série ne correspond pas au numéro de série sur la boîte. Je vais m'en acheter un neuf....

Awesome audio quality. I'm happy with my camera sound quality with this mic.

Microfono di ottimo livello - ad uso pro e amatoriale - omni/direzionale/stereo utilizzabile su macchina fotografica, che non necessita di alimentazione autonoma. il dispositivo, di dimensioni contenute, è di buon livello, con audio ben filtrato ed è ammortizzato con una buona cuffia antiwing. Assorbe un pò la batteria, ma funziona perfettamente.

Ich habe mir das Mikrofon für meine Sony ZV-1 gekauft und bin sehr zufrieden. Die Klangqualität ist gut. Der Vorteil gegenüber anderen „Zubehörmikros“ ist halt, dass man keine zusätzlichen Kabel benötigt. Aufstecke und los geht es. Praktikabel und schnell … Meines Erachtens lohnt sich auch der Aufpreis
