From the beginning, with a foreword by Pharrell Williams, I have been impressed! Mr. Williams compares his teachers to "a constellation". Beautiful! This book is a read for teachers who want to be a better version of themselves.

In this book, she takes her genius a step further by focusing on something we all need, deserve, and have been deprived of for too long: joy. I have this text and I reference it often. We need to add Joy to learning and teaching.

Gholdy Muhammad shows us what it means to be responsible, reflective, and to even unlearn some of the things that do not serve us or our students. She reminds us that we need to look no further than the students right before us to find genius-for there is genius in each and every one of them.

This is such a great complementary book to Dr. Muhammad's first one. It definitely weaves in each pursuit and seamlessly combines it with JOY. From the music lists to the examples, I think that this would be great for any educator.
