Well built hitch
Unlike others, the box the hitch came in was relatively unmanaged, and the hitch was in good shape inside. Itโs stout, and once attached fits perfectly under the bumper of my 2023 cx5. Install as others have mentioned can be tricky. I watched many videos and read a lot of the reviews here. Hereโs my 2 cents on the install: If you have a lift or ramps, it will make your life easier for sure. Others reported doing it without ramps so I installed it from the ground. Itโs a lot more awkward trying to angle and lift the hitch into place and under the bumper fascia with the small clearance from the ground with the exhaust lowered. Get a friend to help. While you can get creative and put it on yourself, even with my wife helping, we struggled a bit on the alignment of the hitch and getting the first bolts started with the two of us. Would be a lot harder just myself. I ended up using Jack stands to help support the hitch during this part of the install. Use packing tape for the washers as suggested in the videos. I read in one review where superglue was used and almost went that route. The hole in the washers is smaller than that on the hitch itself, and the tape allows a little bit of flex/movement in the washers to help finagle pulling the bolt through with the fish wire. I think having a truely fixed washer ups the chances of struggling getting both front and rear bolts to line up unless you get lucky on exactly where you glued the washer on. Overall, very doable diy, but there was some frustration and cursing during the install. The hitch is great, used it this weekend for my bike carrier! I plan to go back in a few weeks to make sure the bolts are still properly torqued down.

Good fit, simple installation process
If you have the right tools and can follow directions this hitch shouldn't be a problem for any do-it-yourselfer. I like the fact that the receiver is 2 in, rather than inch and a half

Great value
The dealer wanted to charge me over $400 plus labor to install a hitch on my Mazda CX-5. So I just casually looked to see if I could find one cheaper and maybe pay someone else to install it. After reading reviews, I settled on this one. After ordering, I started watching videos and realized I could install it myself. The fish wire included with this made install a breeze! Definitely a hack I'll use in future. My husband and I installed this in roughly 45 minutes. The hardest part of the task was us arguing about how to slide it in to seat it (turns out I was right, he was wrong, so we had to pull it back and reseat it lol). Everyone said it was hard to pull out the exhaust hangars, it wasn't. Pop them out using a screwdriver to pry them with a little effort. He held it in place, I installed and torqued all the hardware. Popped the exhaust back on. It was too easy. The packaging was damaged and torn when it arrived as others have mentioned, but the hitch itself was not damaged. Save yourself some money and do it yourself. I have hauled the bike rack, a store rack that I have, and a small kayak trailer. I couldn't be happier, or prouder of the hundreds of dollars I saved for a great quality and highly rated product.

40 Minute Install with the right tips
Fairly easy install after referencing some youtube videos. One major thing that helped my install was: Using a floor jack to get the front of the hitch level with the last screw holes after getting the rear screws in, and also - taping the washers to the frame of the car, instead of the hitch. One person on a youtube had suggested that method, and it worked like a dream. Was originally quoted $175 for a local installer for just the labor of installing (which I said heck no to). Took me 40 minutes, and had it done no problems. Got the bike rack on there now, and it feels very sturdy. Extremely happy with this product - would definitely recommend.

Fantastic hitch.
2014 CX-5..Worked like a charm after an awkward start. One problem was the muffler hangers at the rear. After the hitch is in you can't just stick the rubber back on. I bent mine down and installed them then bent it back up. Worked easy enough. Also, the helicoil holding that bolt, don't put it in till the hitch is in place. You'll be glad you did. And the washers that are taped on? Hopefully just a suggestion but if you really want them, tack weld them in place. Although this is definitely a 2 man job, I did put it in alone but I used a bunch of boards to hold things up. Kinda surprised how easy it did go in and this hitch is sturdy. Car won't pull the weight it will handle. And yes, I'd gladly recommend it to anyone. Also add, you'll like the way it's packed when it's shipped.

Super easy install, hides well
I installed this on a 2018 CX-5. The process was easy. I used two ramps to back the car up on to get space under the rear bumper. I didn't need to go to the top of the ramps to have enough room to work. The instructive were clear although I did watch a number of videos online and found the U-haul video the best. I recommend removing the muffler rubber mounts from the muffler side instead of the car side. Or at least switching it frog the muffler to the car after dropping the muffler. I am only towing a tiny motorcycle trailer currently but shortly will tow an 8 canoe trailer for Scouts which will push the vehicle, not the hitch.

Second one of these I've installed - works great.
Installed this same brand on a 2016 Mazda CX-5 about five years ago - it worked great for all that time so i decided to look for the same brand again. Then just got this one for a new 2021 Mazda CX-5. Toughest part of the installation is dropping the muffler which requires sliding four rubber hangers off pegs. I learned to use a pry bar and just pry whichever peg on the bumper that provides the best pry angle for that specific hanger. Also use a lubricant to assist. It will take a lot of force but don't let that intimidate you. You'll also want a second person to help hold the hitch in place while you are actually mounting and screwing the first two bolts in place. To avoid jacking up, we have a slight hill on our driveway and I simply positioned the SUV so the back-end was as high as possible so no jacking up required. You'll also want to use a strap to support the muffler assembly once you disconnect it from the four rubber hangers. It took me about two hours all-in to install but I could do it much quicker now that I know the best way to remove the rubber hangers for the muffler - there are some good YouTube videos for that. I would do this again in a minute to avoid paying someone $200 or more to install - not that difficult and a perfect fit...

Curt class 3 hitch.
Perfect fit , quality appears very good . From various posted videos on installation ; I would highly recommend to remove the muffler to install the hitch. Only two nuts to remove and makes it a whole lot easier than just dropping the muffler. Does take two people to position the hitch when bolting into place.

Great Hitch for a 2025 CX5
Very easy install. Out of all the hitches available for the 2025 cx5 this one seems to sit the highest, making a clean look.

Perfect fit
It came with all the required hardware for installation. Installing is a 2 person job and it helps if you have an exhaust doughnut remover.
