I found this book great and informative about the history as to why these hauntings occur. The story telling was done in a way that made the book very interesting

It's hard to believe how the patients were treated in these places. I really enjoyed reading this. I'm sure this is just the tip of the iceberg of haunted hospitals and mental asylums.

Interesting book that not only tells about the haunting but the history of treatment for the mental patients in the 1800-1900s. It’s no wonder that their spirits can’t rest after all the tortured treatments they went through.

How these people were treated in these types of places is fascinating to know. I find it so interesting that ghosts can play a role in these type of hauntings outside of our lives. When I read Knowle's book, I could picture the point he was making with his information he was conveying. I can't wait to see what he comes out with next.

I like books about real haunted places and their history i will continue to read more of this series in the future

I love this books. Thank you Zach for putting these out for us to read! I've read 6 of these books now and plan on reading them all. If you haven't read any of the other ones, don't worry, they are not narratively connected. This is a great collection of creepy stories and histories (my favorite part) of famous, semi-famous, and previously unknown scary hospitals and asylums. Only downside, this like the others could have used a pass-over by a copy editor but otherwise everything is good.

I really enjoyed this book as a nurse l found it very interesting.The hospital l work in was built on a mine,and some nurses have seen little children when they are on night shift.after 20 years on nightshift l have never seen anything.l have passed your book on to my colleagues and they all lived it I only wish it had been longer maybe one day you will write a longer book. Thankyou for the enjoyment we got from your book.

Ce qui m'a frappée, c'est que la maltraitance, l'expérimentation médicale voire le meurtre étaient courants dans ces institutions. Il fait nul doute que beaucoup de malades décédés dans ces hôpitaux et asiles n'ont toujours pas de sépulture, et certains cas encore récents de disparitions inquiétantes pourraient donner lieu à l'ouverture d'une enquête judiciaire, si ce que dit l'auteur est avéré. This short collection gathers stories of ghosts' appearances, spirits or poltergeists of adults and even children! What struck me, it is that ill-treatments, medical experiment even murder were common in these institutions. There's no doubt that among the patients that died in these hospitals and asylums, a great number still don't have any grave, and recent cases of disturbing disappearances could justify judicial inquiries, if what the author is telling is proved true.
