Gets hot but I like it
I bought a cheaper $20 plastic welder previously, and this one is definitely worth the extra cost. It heats up much faster, feels more capable, and the included extras alone make the kit a better value. The variety of plastic welding rods is especially useful. After working with plastic repairs more, I’ve learned how important it is to match the same type of plastic when adding filler material or reinforcing a crack. This kit gives you several different plastic types to work with, which makes it much easier to get a stronger, cleaner repair instead of just melting random material into the joint. The hot stapler function works very well. It gets hot quickly and lets you sink staples into cracked plastic fast, which is great for bumpers, containers, panels, tabs, and other broken plastic pieces. My only complaint showed up during heavier extended use. I was repairing a large storage container that had cracked down the side, and while using the heat/spade attachment to melt and blend the existing plastic with added filler material, the unit seemed to overheat and throttle itself down. It would work very hot for about 30–45 seconds, then drop to a weaker heat level that was not very effective. After letting it cool for a couple minutes, it would heat back up and work again, but only for another short burst. So I would not call this ideal for long, continuous plastic welding jobs with the heat-spade attachment. For shorter repairs, crack reinforcement, hot staples, tabs, bumper repairs, and general plastic repair work, though, it performs very well and is a big step up from the cheaper basic kits. Overall, I’m happy with it. Great value, fast heat-up, useful accessories, and very handy to have around. Just be aware that for extended welding/blending work, you may need to give it short cool-down breaks.

Just buy it… you’ll find many uses!
I’ve never done plastic welding but this was a great kit to get started with. Very easy to use, tons of plastic material and accessories, which proved very useful for my first big project. A big storm had flipped and buckled the plastic slide on a play set at our church. While the broken wood parts could be repaired readily and inexpensively, to replace the slide was going to be $600. For the low price of this welding kit it was worth a try to get the kiddos playing again. It worked surprisingly well and was very easy to use. The results aren’t going to be picture perfect, necessarily, but this can save you time of money. For this project I made a bend on the squiggly staples to match the curved surface, cut the wires low with side cutters, used a Dremel to grind down the ends of the metal posts and then filled in with the supplied plastic. That was to keep the posts from catching or cutting the kids’ hands. Not pretty, but it worked, and I tested the slide myself. The welder has plenty of power and heat. It does get warm to hold after long use, but just take a break and let it cool off, or wear work gloves

This works great
Excellent tool. Had two self-inflicted punctures/cracks in the fenders of my zero-turn lawnmower. Looked at new parts - way more than I felt like spending. Saw this kit - watched the video, read the reviews - ordered it but was skeptical it would be all that good. Wrong - it’s quick and great. The staples sink in easily and set up quick. Clip the ends off. Use the smearing tip to cover the staples and even things out over the crack. Used a file to smooth off the nubs. Solid fix. Took a half hour.

Ready to use out of the box.
Like anything that melts oil based plastics, it is very important to have adequate ventilation when using this tool because most are carcinogens waiting to be released and inhaled if not careful. That being said, this is not a heavy duty tool, but for the occasional do it your-selfer it fills a need nicely. Most everything we buy has some sort of plastic or hydrocarbon based olefins. This is a great tool and can make pretty decent repairs with practice. As mentioned, it is a light duty tool based on the thin gauge power cord, a series of short bursts works well when attaching the staples, heat just enough to melt the base plastic, however using hot knife and trowls will overheat the tool if used continuously. This kit came with a generous assortment of staples, plastic rods and mesh.

A Good Repair Kit for the money
Works as advertised. I am not good at using this tool. Looks easy on YouTube but like many things on YouTube one needs to use it enough to do it as good as it can be done. It comes with a lot of reinforcement pieces and plastics to make repairs. The gun does a good job at heating and melting plastic. I had a hail Mary job on a cracked pipe in a travel trailer that I partially repaired but after it still leaked. Reason being the crack was above the trailer lower liner that was not accessible when I attempted the repair. What I did reduced the leaking, but what I couldn't get at still needs fixed.

This will save you $$$
Love this kit. Saved a ton of money fixing some pieces on my car that had broken off. Takes a little of practice. I haven't used it on any things that would be visible so appearance hasn't been very important to me. I imagine that would take more practice. The kit comes with everything you could possibly need and the heat gun works great. The gun does have a limited of time that it can be on before it turns off for safety reasons which might make your job take a little longer then planned.

Good product
Worked great and saved us from having to buy an expensive part for our tractor. This was easy to use even for beginners, and the shut-off when it got too hot was great to prevent damaging the product.

Missing product information (110V gun NOT 220V!)
We were very happy with the product when it arrived. Plenty of staples and plastic sticks were provided. The product seems nice and sturdy also. We were however very disappointed when we used it because the interior transformer got damaged on first use. The reason for this is that the gun happened to be a 110V type when in my country the mains is of 220V. There is no indication on the product information page or purchase page that this gun is of the 110V type because in such a case we would have ensured to buy a gun which was compatible with the 220V mains of our country!

GOOD DEAL, VERY HAPPY WITH PURCHASE.
I am very happy with this purchase, after looking through a lot of kits available this one seemed to have everything needed to get started and actually finish the repair with staples, mesh and plastic. It comes with a large amount of wire staples and plastics and a case with real hinges, not just bent plastic that will break. I contacted the seller about the probes on the gun I received being about 5 mm different in length, and needed to fuss with the staples a bit, and they sent me a second complete kit within a week. very impressed. the second gun is perfect. The seller also answered some questions I had about the plastics .. good service In my opinion. I used it to repair a 2003 Honda civic front bumper and it worked very well. I used staples on the inside then covered with wire mesh and plastic, it is very strong. I also used PC-Super epoxy to replace/repair the tabs. for the price this is a great deal.

Great product, arrived next day!
This is pretty amazing. Now I’ve never used a hot stapler before so I can’t really compare. I used this on a set of catcher leg guards that developed two cracks. Instead of replacing them with another $400 pair, I used this. And it worked wonderfully. The rigid testing has withheld, now it’s up to the more rigorous test of him playing with it. For now it’s pretty cool! The reviews and advice is true, stop when you see the plastic bubble around the staple. I also used the melting attachment (I’m sure it’s called something fancier) to cover the staples with plastic. Comes with a sturdy side cutters and knife. You will have to grind down the ends of the staples after you cut them off though. I used my Dremel and it worked great. Can’t wait to break something else to fix it with this!

Good Electric Stapler with a Lot of Parts. 220Watts.
My first time with one of these. I purchased this kit to repair a truck bumper. It has a good assortment of plastic welding rods. All kinds. Many bags of staples. Various. Nice exacto knife, and a decent set of side cutters. Stainless mesh, metallic tape, and more. That said, trying to repair the mounting holes on my bumper quickly lead to the gun shutting down. And the handle gets pretty warm. It does not seem up to the task of melting the larger flat bars. Overheats quickly, and takes a while to reset. At least there is a protective circuit. Worked better with the thin round rods. Have not yet tried the staples, but I have a project in mind for that. Suspect it is a good stapler. Welder... meh.
