Saved my basement, saved me some sleep. Highly Recommended!
I am from Rochester NY where we had an insane wind storm which knocked out power for most residents for more than 3 days. My house unfortunately is at a low point in our track which includes an added bonus that our sump pump runs about 10-20 seconds every hour during wet days.During the power outtage I was hand bailing 20 gallons of water every hour on the hour using an old empty paint can and a 5 gallon bucket. Not surprisingly every big box hardware store in Rochester and surrounding area's sold out of any equipment that could help alleviate my plight including this exact siphon pump. In comes Amazon... where I found this same siphon pump for $10 less than the box stores. I ordered this up and this with 1 day shipping. This pump saved me from insanity and sleepless nights. I was able to completely drain my sump pump well in about 50 full pumps giving me 2.5 hours to sleep until the well filled again because it was able to suck the well completely dry where my bucket method wasn't able to get all the way to the bottom. As others mentioned, depending on how hard you're pumping some water does drip out of the top of the pump, but compared to a flooded basement it was an absolutely acceptable trade off. I will add that I've never purchased or used an item like this before, so I do not know if there are better ones out there. Either way thank you King Innovation and Amazon!!!!

A Huge Disappointment!!!
I bought this water pump so I could pump rainwater that would gather around my work shed on rainy days, sadly this pump started to fall apart almost immediately the hose ripped (it was super flimsy) So i tied it with some tape and a rag, it was for occasional when it rained, soon the pump began to not even be able to pull water at all. I expected more for a product marketed as "Made in the USA" but has extremely disappointed, The pump is still under warranty I wonder if King Innovation will stand by their product, If they do I will update this review...

Great pump but maybe not for nice surfaces
The pump is mostly easy to use and pumps water nearly as expected. I bought it to get the last water out of my hot tub that's below the drain line. It pumps best on flat surface so still had to sponge out the last 1/4 inch of water because my hot tub bottom has ridges. My other challenges ar that the output hose is very stiff and stuck in a down position such that having the water go where I wanted was a challenge without a second person to hold the hose in place. The reason I might return the thing though is because it left black scuff marks inside my hot tub that didn't remove with soft scrub and I don't want to try anything more abrasive.

Good for manually pumping water, but not extracting sediment or limescale chunks
Assembly: attach 72" hose to pump counterclockwiseUsage: place pump into water and hose into bucket (I used a 4-gallon). The pumping process extracts ~ one quart per down/up stroke; if sand collects within bottom of pump, unscrew its tip and rinse it out.Note: after manually pumping out tens of gallons of water from my 48" x 15" ribbed sump basin, there remained some watery sediment and chunks (limescale?) at the bottom of it. Try as I might for hours, I couldn't get this pump to extract it. Instead I had to rent a wet vac(uum) from a big-box store which easily removed it in <30 seconds. Thus I think the best utility for this pump is manually extracting clear or semi-clear water (e.g., from an outdoor irrigation control valve box when the lines are drained). But for someone that didn't want to install a new sump pump into existing watery sediment that contained hardened chunks of sediment or limescale, this pump didn't meet all my extraction needs.

saved my basement!
So all my worldly possessions were in my basement as I am currently moving and using the basement for storage. Hurricane Florence was coming and no generators, so i bought this. Power went out, and this pump truly pumps a lot of water. I ended up duct taping the hose to a garden hose and running it downhill, using the pump to prime the line! Saved my basement from flooding till the power came back on.
