GE PVM9179SRSS Profile 1.7 Cu. Ft. Convection Over-the-Range Microwave Oven Stainless Steel Bundle with 2 YR CPS Enhanced Protection Pack

This unit was installed in a 2002 Fleetwood Bounder 39R motorhome (diesel pusher). It replaces the older original convection/microwave (GE Profile) that have been discontinued. The wall bracket fortunately fit my existing bracket, so swapping it out was easy. The bolt pattern that holds the unit at the top was a little different, but that was no problem (templates are included). This works like a champ and allows you to bake (convection oven mode) or microwave or perform a fast bake/speed bake where it is used as an oven while occasionally using the microwave features to help speed things up (but they don't taste like microwaved food). It's a quality unit and a great replacement... and a LOT cheaper than the flagship model that they now sell. The flagship model is an embarrassment in many ways (you can't even keep the clock on -- as it auto shuts off and they're trying to claim its for energy conservation, or some lame excuse. This GE Profile model has all the best features AND the clock stays on if you want it to). Don't be fooled into thinking the more expensive flagship model is better -- it's NOT. THIS model is half the cost (or more) and just as good with more features.

This is a good product. One thing to consider is the swing of the door. I installed it, but the door wouldn't open all the way because of the cabinet on the left. I had to remove it a do a reinstall. The microwave looks great and has very good features. I used the airframe feature and it worked, but it takes a little longer than conventional airfares. This doesn't come with a user's manual, so I may have not used it correctly.

Premium microwave. The connection oven and air fryer take a while to heat up, but installation was quick and easy.

After hours on the phone with minimally helpful attendants we got this working. The screen still sits blank, so we have a tech coming in a few days. (free) It is a well-featured unit with convection baking, air frying and conventional microwave. You need to take out the metal shelves to use the microwave function. The manual is execrable in many ways. Installation was a bear but doable by two strong men. Apparently, this unit does NOT connect to the phone by bluetooth. No thanks to the @#%$ manual, we finally got this working and got the screen up by hitting some buttons and then settings to turn time on. So far, some carbonized potatoes and some soggy crostini. Assume sooner or later we'll beat this thing into proper utility. One other item: the faceplate is almost impossible to read when standing on the floor. Small print and unlit. We finally made a copy of the panel picture to sit on the stove for ready reference. The rotating glass platter was the wrong size. Mfr contacted and said they'd replace. NOTHING. They never did replace the platter. And, when the unit completely died within the warranty range, the company providing the coverage attempted to weasel on its responsibilities, shrugged and only offered to refund the cost of the 'protection plan'. At that point, we contacted Amazon to intervene.

Love everything about it. Best microwave in my experience.

Works well as expected. Looks awesome

I had a GE over the range microwave oven that lasted around 17 years and loved it. I wanted to replace it with a GE brand and so I chose this model. I installed the new one and found I could not open the door. Upon inspection, my old oven required no clearance to the left of the door hinge when open, but the new one required an opening to the left of 3/4 inch. This was due to the fact that the new oven was not flush with the side of the microwave when opened. Normally, this would not be a problem because the oven usually mounts over the range and the cabinet to the left of the microwave is the same depth as the cabinet the microwave mounts to. The microwave is deeper than the cabinet and allows no interference with the door. Because my cabinet to the left of the new unit extended past the microwave, I had to move my cabinets to the left 3/4 inch to allow the door to open. PLEASE BE AWARE THE MICROWAVE REQUIRES 3/4 INCH CLEARANCE ON THE LEFT SIDE. A WALL OR A CABINET THAT IS DEEPER THAN THE CABINET YOU MOUNT THE MICROWAVE TO MUST BE 3/4 INCH FROM THE DOOR WHEN CLOSED. This extra clearance allows the door to swing open. Other than this problem, I love this model.

Ordered from big box store and they failed to deliver, as usual. Amazon to the rescue. Works great. More buttons than most will use, but you adjust. The air fryer and convection bake features are nice but tbh are not quick. I made a 9 x 13 cake in 50 minutes. (It was delicious though!) Best feature is combination/fast cook imo. Instructions are very minimal so watch YouTube or figure out cook times by trial/error!
