So glad my husband suggested we get this! Great quality for the price and we don’t have to search for shade when we’re out exploring anymore. It’s easy to set up and take down and has been sturdy on our drives. The material is thick enough that it doesn’t feel even hotter underneath it either like some of the cheap umbrellas we’ve used in the past.

I went with AllTop because the other products I have of theirs have been great. This awning has been no exception to that. 10-15 mph sustained wind and gusts up to 25, zero issues. Now I did add some sand spikes and sand bags to the legs to help, but no issues so far in several days on the beach. Only wish my bed was longer to allow for a bigger awning.

Love that it deploys FAST! I have a little step stool that puts me up close to it and it's up in no time. I also have the front panel and one side panel and those were easy to deploy. Love It! Would buy again!Now the bad on the install....The hardware that came with the awning was not that bad, but the nylon 'lock' nuts froze when I tried to bolt them on which ended up completely stripping the inside aluminum body of the mount making it useless. I also had to cut the bolt off which was ridiculous because of my roof rack, it should have been in place in 30 minutes. I would recommend NOT using the nyloc nuts, go to your local hardware store and get good quality, regular hardware with lock washers and lock tite.

This review is based on my installation of the product. I have not yet used it "in the wild." The product seems fine so far--it is installed and it works. One person can set it up, but it is not easy!Installation was challenging. The company provides a pair of two different kinds of brackets and difficult to understand illustrations (sometimes words are necessary for clarity!) for two different ways to mount to a cargo basket and two different ways to attach to crossbars. None of these options applied to my round Yakima crossbars or to my Yakima Load Warrior cargo basket--pretty common crossbars and cargo baskets, not unusual at all. I ended up improvising my own installation with $25 worth of hardware.So far, I have no complaints about the quality of the product--this is just a warning to not believe the claims to quick and easy installation and be prepared to shell out some more money and extra time to make it work with whatever rig you've got.

It’s kinda a pain to set up in less than desirable conditions. Wish the canopy had some kind of spring loaded feature to collapse and expand the canopy. Exterior bag sags like gmas tiddys. Has no effect on performance, it’s just very unsightly.

Seems pretty straight forward. Able to install myself but definitely easier with some help. Not that anyone would want to steal but it wouldn’t be difficult so I added a piece to the railing and secured it with a lock.

Great quality material and easy set up and take down. I would recommend adding for any van life or car camper.
