I personally find hand-washing, soaking overnight in baking soda then giving your pack another wash in the morning with an all natural soap. You can go to a material store like Joann fabrics and buy some wool and use that to put castor oil on it. You still should find something (like a old sheet)so it will keep it on place if you are going to sleep with the patch of of castor oil .
