An easy install but tight in an E38
Having a tape player in not the best condition brought about some research into the BMW E38 non-DSP head unit options. Beyond that, you'll want one of these adaptors if fitting an aftermarket head unit..So the connectors fit fine, and there's plenty of wire between the two connectors. It works fine.On my E38 I found that it took a decent amount of frustration, trying to rotate and move the wire and connector in order to get the new head unit to fit.. it eventually went in, but it's something to be aware of. It probably fits in other models somewhat easier.
