Smells great, goes on a little dry
I love the idea of plastic free but the deodorant slides back in as you put it on. The longer you use it, the more it slides back which is irritating but it works. I like the smell, it doesn't cause any staining and it keeps me dry. It does not irritate my skin but it goes on dry, but its a small price to pay the avoid the plastic

Fabulous natural deodorant
I love this product. Iโve tried various natural deodorants in the past that were too sticky, didnโt work, and I didnโt like. Iโve purchased this one numerous times. It works great, smell is natural, and itโs not sticky. Some reviews complain about the cardboard packaging. Itโs so hard to find items NOT in plastic. Target used to carry the deodorant in cardboard but got rid of it years ago. So, I started buying it via amazon. It may not be perfect but I donโt find it too bad and I really appreciate having one less thing in plastic, which means less plastic getting into my body and less plastic lingering on the planet forever!! I hope Native continues with the cardboard packaging!!

Good smell, good function, okay shelf life
I like the scent (although the Boston creme one has now become my favorite), the cardboard, the ingredients, and the overall functioning. It's a great choice if you're looking for those things and can use it fairly quickly. One star off because although Native is my favorite brand and I've only bought them of late, I have found that they can become less effective the longer they sit on my shelf. This likely wouldn't be an issue for most people. I just have a collection of 3-5 scent choices at any given time, so mine don't get used as frequently and their shelf time is longer as a result. As far as the effectiveness when the tube is newer, it's completely fine. It's not an antiperspirant, so I still sweat, but it is an effective deodorant for me. I social dance and generally sweat a lot then, so I usually reapply once during the evening if the event is running more than a few hours. Even then, it's more for my own piece of mind than because I've noticed any odor. A bonus of the paper packaging: I can cut the bottom off as I use it so it takes less space when traveling. I noticed no difference in shelf life between this packaging and the typical plastic packages, and this one is a better choice for plastic reduction.

I hate the new paper packaging
I hate the new card board paper packaging. This packaging is ridiculous. It is cheap. Opening it for the first time is difficult. Closing it is difficult. Pushing the deodorant up is difficult since it is not a twist up. I keep my deodorant in the bathroom. My bathroom has a lot of moisture guess what happens when paper gets wet? I accidentally knocked over my deodorant in the sink the deodorant packaging got soggy like a paper straw. Now its even harder to put the lid on. I get your trying to help save the plant ( a little to late) and cutting cost on plastic packaging but when it comes to hygienic products and food paper packaging should be avoided. This is what vital proteins collagen did with there packaging now my collagen has a higher risk of tiny bugs like weevils going into it disgusting. Also I feel like the formula has changed or this new packaging is causing my armpits to itch. The first Native Deodorant I purchased was in normal amazing packaging and worked amazing. I thought I had finally found a deodorant for sensitive skin fragrance free NATURAL ingredients. Nope. I finally find something and it gets ruined. For such an EXPENSIVE product it should be in the fanciest packaging instead of the cheapest. Is the paper packaging organic, toxic free? or is it recycled paper toilet? I'm so annoyed from this. I was going to try Native Body lotion, but I will have to pass. I will most likely not repurchase this product again. I will continue to search for a new product that doesn't have paper packaging. The reason I stopped using Sasquatch is because they changed the formula as well and I developed a rash/ itchy arm pits. These companies should listen to their customers but they never will, they don't care. It was good while it lasted.

get this deodorant if u appreciate one that is heathly and actually lasts 24 hrs
i literally get b.o when i leave the shower sometimes. like when i say this deodorant works and is (hopefully) 100% natural at the same time... i havent seen anyone get the charcoal one yet so thats why im also leaving a review. its not black its like grey and it doesnt come on dark. i thought id try it because all the other scents just sounded too fluffy and specific i just want the job done. it smells like "fresh" and i actually love it. so as ive said, strangely enough it actually lasts. ive never had a natural deodorant last like this. ive had others work, but last? no. and i mean into the next day, after sweating. like i dont get b/o anymore! now when i want to shower its just because my skin is covered in salty sweat, or my hair is greasy... not because of me being grossed out by my smell. i imagine less showers, and more longer sleeping. i am so grateful. i havent felt this joyful and full of energy life and vibrance (emotionally) since i was a teenager... btw reason i sweat so much is mainly medical issues that just make me constantly feel pain/sweat internally basically which gives me b/o basically anytime i exert ANY amount of effort into anything so again thank you so whoever created this! im only 31 so its like, ive been feeling much like a 50 y/o woman rather than 30 as a result since i have turned idk 20? another cute benefit which every all natural product should begin following is the no plastic im really into that too. so cute packaging. im so very satisfied. u just gained a lifelong customer. did i mention it smells really amazing and the product is super creamy and leaves literally NO residue whatsoever! :):):) edit: left residue on my grey sheets actually. like white. i dont really care this changes nothing for me . i havent seen any residue on my clothes but i dont really wear black and its hot so i havent been wearing shirts even to know... im probably going to switch to white sheets ,when i move out these arent my sheets, will edit again if it washes out when i clean them because i just washed them the other day so not yet.

Nice scent, seems to work. Container is terrible. Get the one in plastic.
The deodorant itself seems good. I like the scent and I donโt seem to have any odors over the course of a full day. The packaging/container on the other hand is the worst design/functionality of any container in the history of mankind. The outer sleeve is super tight fitting so you tug and yank to get it off to use. Then itโs a puzzle to get it back together when done, I would usually just barely put it back on because it was a pain getting off and on, and then the container is twice as tall. Then after a little use (maybe 1/4 of the product?) the deodorant itself would separate from its holder completely. It would fall out. For a bit there was enough left where you could squeeze it in the cardboard to continue to use as a handle, but finally it got to where you had to hold the deodorant block in your hand to apply. Then, you had a waxy mess on your hands that you had to wash off, after just showering. Considering this stuff is almost priced as high as gold, you end up tossing a fair bit at the end because you canโt grip well enough to apply it to you body.

Amazing Plastic Free Option
I've been using this for years now after trying to find a plastic-free option since it's such a waste to use such a bulky plastic contraption for a couple weeks just to throw it away (not sure why no one's come up with a mass-produced refillable option). It took a bit for my body to adjust to the formulation, and to get used to how a paper-based packaging in reality would work. Depending on the stick, sometimes you have to squeeze/grip the sides firmly so the stick doesn't go down during application, the paper cardboard will discolor/stain because of the deodorant oils (so not as "pretty" as plastic), and when you get to the end of the stick the last 1-1.5 mm might pop off (which you can just put back on and more gently apply if you want to use every last bit). Once you get the hang of it it's not a big deal (my young daughter can use it easily), and it's a small adjustment to make compared to the POUNDS of plastic that would've been going straight into our already polluted environment (because let's face it - deodorant sticks are a wish-recycling type of item). In the end this is a solid plastic-free deodorant option, BUT as of April 2026, Native informed long-time users like myself that they will be discontinuing their plastic free line, which is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT. I hope they re-consider their decision in the future.

Plastic free packaging is terrible!
I have used/ordered Native Deodorant " coconut vanilla" scent multiple times and have liked the product very much. I needed to reorder, so thought I would try a different scent. I ordered the "citrus herbal musk" . I did not notice that the packaging had changed to "plastic free". Regarding the scent, I did not like it. It smelled like house cleaner and was very strong. I could have lived with that, but the packaging was a game changer. I am all for using less plastic as well as biodegradable, however given that deodorant is used daily, the product needs to be easily accessible as well as packaged to travel. It took my husband to "wrestle" the top off of the deodorant holder. There is no way to push deodorant up or down. Once the product is exposed , you get the entire stick. Putting the top back on is another challenge. As you can see from photo above , I cannot get the top down. The cardboard is basically that, dried cardboard without any coating (Like a cardboard milk carton) . It does not slide down and pushing hard would no doubt damage the cardboard container. I travel quite a bit, so obviously I cannot bring an partially open container of deodorant in my luggage. I would have returned this immediately, however before opening it it, I had tossed the packaging. So, now I am stuck with it, as the return policy requires bringing to UPS , if you do not have packaging. I am 45 min from UPS store, so that will not happen. Live and Learn.

IT'S AMAZING, HOWEVER..
It's literally AMAZING! Lasts all day even when I don't touch up, after a really long and sweaty day. It's the best for anyone having issues with strong sweat. However the container sucks lmao. Pleeeeease get the one in plastic. 30โฌ and the product is paper and not practical at all. It doesn't allow you to roll out and roll in. I basically have to use my fingers to push it out and back in. It would have been 5 stars. It does stain clothes but just a little scrubbing with some soap before throwing it in the washing machine gets it all off.

Stay away from thr charcoal variation. It stains everything.
Native is a good deo stick. I wanted to try more than one variety, and i can say that after using the charcoal, all my white tops undergarments got stained with black sandy grainy pattern and it didn't wash off. I had to throw them and replace them. If you're using this with any light color whether it's a top or an undergarment, it WILL stain it.

Solution for- trouble with opening
So before I bought this product I read a lot of reviews about how everyone loves this but have trouble opening it. I still decided to try it. It got delivered today. .. I see EXACTLY what they are talking about. But there's a simple solution. .. just cut two tiny wedges in the lid like I did in the pic. One in each side. And it will open smoothly. I mean ideally the company should just make that change in their packaging. That will be easier.

Great product. Horrible packaging.
Iโve always loved this deodorant but the new packaging is horrible! Bring back the old model it was so much easier to use and apply.
