Smooth telescoping action. Nice and strong magnet at the tip to pickup dropped parts in hard to reach places. Works as it should, no complaints.

A Great Tool!
This telescoping magnet is Terrific! I've used it to retrieve dropped bolts and nuts out of some tight places in my car's engine compartment with zero issues, and to pick up nails off the floor after a small demolition project. Great tool and a Great value!

A must have tool!
Oh, this CRAFTSMAN telescope tool is a real lifesaver! It’s like a magic wand that helps me grab screws and stuff that fall into tight spots. It’s super long when you pull it out, but it can shrink down to fit in my pocket. And the magnet on the end is crazy strong – it can pick up way heavier things than I thought it would. I have used it a ton while doing an engine rebuild on my SxS. I’ve used it a bunch of times already, and it’s always worked like a charm. No more headaches trying to reach things that fall behind the workbench. If you’re someone who drops tiny parts like I do, you’ll want to get one of these. I had tried some off-brand tools, and they broke fairly quickly. The only thing I wish this had was a little bigger magnet face, but it is good for getting into smaller areas.
