This tool is well made, accurately cast, sturdy and does a perfect job for me in removing / adjusting / installing the Shimano Hollowtech II "crank arm fixing bolt" (e.g. the star cap in the center of the crank bore), as well as flipping the security tab out of its notch. Thank you!

I'm not sure why Shimano feels the urge to have caps with an unconventional means of getting them on and off. Setting that aside... this works just fine for getting the cap off.

Works as expected. Removes and tightens shimano crank bolt, hook pops out the key.

Proper tool. Much better than the round, plastic version.

This tool worked perfectly to remove the crank cap off my Shimano 105 R7000 crank set. The small hook on the tool pulled the small safety hook up on the Hollowtech crank arm as designed. It does the same work as the big blue brand tool for less than 60% of the price. Good deal.
