must have for mobile operations when using a remote head/mic setup
use it in my car with the ftm 510d. I have a remote setup with the control head and mic upfront on the dash. the microphone extension pop out of the dash. i clip this to the passenger visor and the mic hangs out of the way like a truck driver. doesnt interfere too much with the cup holders. i drive a 2000 grand marquis so the cup holders pull out from the dash. keeps everything neat. i can unclip and store mic to keep the cord from dry rotting in the sun

ok but the rope loop end might not fit or attach

Some radios have a small hole that one can loop rope string thru, but as in the pic, it's a last, too wide and thick. You might be able to cut and tie it to it but you'll want it tied very tight else if it falls, you can damage the radio.

Wonderful product
Ive had mine alittle over a year in my dumptruck and it works just as good now as the day i bought it the cord has not frayed or anything i love this product even know im really tough on it and use it all the time it has stood the test of time i would 100% recommend this product!

GPS leash
I use Key-bak products for several applications: one at work as an ID badge tether, and this one as a GPS leash for my Garmin GPS Maps 65. I wish it were a bit smaller, but I feel much better having expensive tech secured. I've used 3 Key-bak retractables and never had one fail, despite extending them several times a day and even getting them regularly caught in chairs or doors.

Doesn’t retract as it should
The lanyard locks in place and you have to tug out to release it which makes absolutely no sense for a mic holder. It is good quality tho. Sturdy and solid. Could be handy for something else however I’m returning it.

Works good and seems strong
I think it would be better if it retracted after every pull, but it’s not a big deal to make it retract. Does what it’s supposed to without any problems
