This works great on my miniature schnauzer’s tear staining and mattes. My dog has under developed tear ducts, and she tears constantly. The vet has flushed them, but basically they’ve just told me it is what it is and I need to use a daily tear staining product. I’ve been using this regularly on my puppy for about a month, probably a bit longer. He’s stark white and his tear stains are just terrible. I followed the directions precisely for about 2.5 weeks with absolutely no improvement. It actually got worse to the point I was asked how my dog got a black eye.Talk about embarrassing.I found another product, a balm, that I used in combination with this one. After another couple of weeks, the tear stains eventually started to clear up CONSIDERABLY and now it’s just a very light tan mark near the corner of his eye on one side.I’m not convinced that this alone will improve tear stains, even with consistent use. I have a beautiful white Pomeranian puppy, she developed dark tears stains. I always relied on Burt's Bees, and thought this would work. After 4 weeks and daily application, it hasn't made any difference at all. Now my baby has permanent dark stains on her white fur like someone took a Sharpie. The tears stains actually got worse. My vet said this is common with white dogs and not a medical condition. This product only made the stains appear darker when they were wet with the product, then, afterwards, I kept it on anyway hoping for the eventual 3-4 week turn around time as promised by the product. Very very disappointed that I should have used something else when I saw this wasn't working and now looks like the stains are tattooed on. She's such a beautiful girl, I'm so upset that about this! A total waste of money. Very angry that animal products are not regulated and anyone can make any promise at all. But's Bees should really be ashamed of themselves for making false claims.

My little guys eyes tear up a lot so I clean them a lot, he doesn’t mind this product and it works great!
