The box I purchased is still unopened. But it is not the first box I bought. The value for this per serving is one of the better values. I also like that it comes in a sealed plastic bucket. This food will stay good a very long time. It tastes good and has a lot of different options. The bucket also makes it easy to carry and it’s pretty light as well for how much food is packed in it. Great for long camping trips, taking up minimal room to store it, you can stack the buckets, and it’s great to have for emergencies. They also have sales on it frequently which makes it even better.

I bought this in case of emergency because it's nice to know we'll be we'll fed under any circumstances. I did want to be prepared if the food wasn't good though, so I decided to make one of the menu options. I made the Spanish rice and it's delicious! It couldn't be easier to make, you literally just add water and cook for 20 minutes. It's flavorful, not too salty, and it's very filling. The only thing I would change is that the airtight packets come in 8 Serving sizes, so you have to make 8 servings at once. That's a lot, and makes it so you pretty much have to eat the rice consecutive days in a row, rather than being able to have it once a week over the 30 days. But, nonetheless, this is an awesome kit, easy to store, great price, and easy to take with you if you're camping or changing locations. I think you could definitely use this instead of buying groceries for a month if you just added some fruits and vegetables to it. Very coat effective.

This may actually be a good deal, but I'm still disappointed because the label clearly says "Up to 30 years shelf life! *" (Note the asterisk.) I figured, of course it could be less if I store it in the tool shed, but in the air conditioned house I'm sure I can rely on 30 years. NOPE! Read the bottom of the "Nutrition Facts" page, where it explains the asterisk. "* Shelf life ranges from 10 to 30 years. See pouch for individual shelf life." Also my container says "Best before March 11, '34". (10 years from 3 months ago when I assume it was packaged.) I'm 57, so I intended that this would last until I'm no longer able to feed myself anyway. But, I guess I'll be back at age 67 to buy again because some items will be expired. And let's face it -- I'll forget.

Wonderful for camping. Was able to have three adults eat from each package during the months we were camping. Definitely better than any mre meals I've tried in the past.
