I have a great solar setup, but unfortunately a pigeon family moved in, and made a mess and a racket. I think anyone that has solar or is considering solar should install these critter guards. I have two solar arrays totaling 30 panels (about 30"x71" each panel) and ordered two of these. I hired a professional roof guy who was willing to install these, but I helped him out and we both learned a lot. About the mesh: it's very lightweight, polymer coated metal wire mesh. It is easy to work with, but we decided to cut them into 4-foot sections and make sure they were flat, so he wouldn't have to fight with a coiled up roll of mesh that wanted to unwind. This worked out well, and made it easier to move around the supplies. If you are to do this, I would recommend cutting into about 4-foot sections, or custom cut each length for the size needed. Do not take the coiled 150-foot section on the roof with you and try to measure and cut on the roof. The J-hooks worked well and there was enough in the package to complete the installation. I ended up with one 4-foot section left. It is very tedious, and requires you to snip/trim the mesh to go around corners and around brackets. Overall, the installation took about 6 hours, and my roof guy was spent. The installation looks great and will prevent further infestation under my solar panesl

Great product and easy to install once I got the hang of it. I purchased the wire to prevent pigeons from building nests under my solar panels. The pigeons cannot get under and no longer land on my roof. Additionally, the black color blended perfectly with my solar panels and is barely visible from the street. I recommend this product for anyone with a similar issue.

Works great for keeping out birds and squirrels from solar panels. Install guy said it was easy to install compared to others he’s used.

My husband said it was easy to install. We have a huge pigeon problem. So far the pigeons have not been able to get under the solar but are camped out on top of the solar now. Hoping they will eventually find another place. I’ve bought two so far and will need to another set. I did notice that on the first set, the tools provided were already used. The pliers had finger prints on them and seemed dirty. Not sure if it was previously returned item of not.

Works exactly as intended, I suggest assembling all your fasteners before beginning to save time. Also a pair of tin snips makes it much easier to cut the mesh than using the small pair of snips it comes with (they do work just fine it just takes a bit longer to cut pieces). Good quality material that has already held up for over a month with snow etc on the roof too.

Very easy to install, time-consuming being on the roof of the house but easy. The clips are pretty strong and sturdy. Once they are locked in it will, it did not back off. I'm happy with this product, it blends right in with my panels. I have seen the squirrels go up on the roof after installing the critter guard and they try to get in under the panels but they had no luck. What made me get this products was because not only that it was easy to install but I see the benefit in keeping the squirrels out and its UV and anti-rust proof. The squirrels already ate through four of my panel cables. I had the panels repaired and I install the critter guard myself and this was an easy way to protect my investment.

The coating on the mesh looked well done and I didn’t find any gaps in it. I didn’t count them, but based on how I spaced the hooks, there were more than 100, which was nice. I bought 3 of these and didn’t even use the clips from the 3rd box, though I only used about 25 feet of the 3rd box. Having the cutting pliers included was a nice plus.

This product is awesome! Great job filling up the gap between my roof and the solar panels. Not too hard to install. Once you install the first 10-12 ft, then it gets a lot easier. Most importantly, no more squirrels under the solar panels!

I have been buying this mesh for our company's solar projects for a while now. The mesh is of good quality as are the clips The cutters actually work well.
