Kitchen sink already had a nice expensive double SS sink and quality faucet - just move into this house last year - and the end of the faucet's swivel spout has a pull-out end with a flexible hose to squirt around the sinks. The stream was solid and my wife wanted a shower stream effect as an option. I took the existing (plain) aerator off and installed a Neoperl Bubble Stream Dual-flow Aerator that I bought at one of the local (national chain) hardware stores...at the same time I ordered a Niagra Tri-Max Aerator. The Bubble Stream Dual-flow Aerator was supposed to have 0.5 gpm spray or a 2.2 gpm stream. We used this for about a month or so (until today) and we found the spray very weak, and the stream also pretty weak. (I don't think it was anything like 2.2 gpm.) Turning on the water, you got the spray by default and you had to pull down on the head of the unit to get the stream. Most times pulling down just dislodged the faucet nozzle's end hose unit from it's seating and you still had the faucet spraying. It generally took two hands to get the stream (which, as I said was very weak). Today I installed the Niagra unit - what a change! Now to change the flow it is a simple twist on the head of the unit! (The hose and head don't accidentally dislodge now!) and the 0.5 gpm is much stronger than the previous unit's 0.5 gpm shower, AND it's a more concentrated (narrow) spray pattern. (The previous unit's shower was much more dispersed and it "kind of showered everywhere!") The Niagra's other two settings of 1.0 and 1.5 gpm are both stronger than the other unit's 2.2 gpm stream. It should be noted that the Niagra's two stronger settings are both showers - there is no stream - but with the more concentrated spray pattern, there is less splashing..and my wife is OK with no actual stream setting. Anyway, it's the better aerator and it gets a full 5 stars.

My kitchen faucet has female threads so I just swapped the existing rubber washer for the one that came with the aerator and screwed it in so that the adjustable dial doesn’t show. My bath faucet had male threads so I simply removed the adapter on the aerator and screwed that one in as I did in the kitchen. Though this is made of plastic, the aerator looks nice and seems well-made. I couldn’t easily pull off the chrome housing like I saw others do in their reviews. I’m really happy to have found this aerator!

I've gone through a few of these type of adjustable aerators. They all have been large, break easily, work strangely, or are hard to adjust. This one is a pleasant change. While it's technically a sprayer rather than an aerator, the affect is close enough. I use it in the kitchen where a standard low-flow fixed aerator gets annoying quick when trying to fill a pot for pasta or make coffee. The high setting isn't a garden hose, but it's plenty quick. It's small, easy to adjust, and keeps setting you choose (unlike some that auto-switch to "low" every time you turn the water off). And it has a clean design that looks factory, not like some cheesy $1 store junk that most of these things look like. 4 star vs 5: I only wish it was brass rather than plastic, but none of the others are brass either. It fits standard inside or outside threads (comes with the adapter) and so should fit most any kitchen or bathroom sink. That said, if you're like me and drink directly from the sink after brushing your teeth...I wouldn't recommend this for the bathroom. The "shower" it produces isn't solid enough to drink from directly. If you rinse from a cup you're fine.

Like others that have purchased this water conserving device, I found that it would not screw into the faucet after I removed the old aerator. My faucet connection has an internal female thread (15/16-27), but it is about 1/4" up inside a very tight "barrel" a the end of the faucet. The outside of the body of the plastic adapter that came with the new aerator is too large to fit inside the faucet fitting to reach the threads, as the barrel diameter is just barely larger than the root (bottom) of the threads inside it. I solved this problem by visiting my local Home Depot store and purchasing a Male/Male Aerator Adapter, with a 15/16-27M thread on one end and a 55/64-27M thread on the other. It is made by Danco & the packaging has part number 10517 on it. The body of this adapter is small enough to reach inside the barrel of the faucet and attach to the threads there; I removed the plastic adapter from the top of the new aerator using the plastic "key" provided for that purpose, and then threaded the aerator onto the other end of the adapter using the female threads in the aerator. About $4 for the adapter, and the water conserving aerator is working as promised. If I had not had to go through all that just to get the new aerator installed, I would likely have given it a higher rating.

If you like, taking a five minute task as easy as screwing in a lightbulb and turning it into an hour long process well this product right here has you covered!!! This little guy comes with a whopping 16th of inch of threads to work with to attach it to the faucet! Such a wonderful challenge! But I haven’t even mentioned the best part yet! Get ready! That 16th of an inch of threads that it comes with well, here’s the exciting part, they are made out of plastic! So when you try to hand tighten it down on the rubber gasket that comes with it’s guaranteed to strip those threads for you!! Because well, there’s only a 16th of an inch, which is absolutely incredible and they’re plastic! God bless the engineers that made this! You can do what I did and just grab a razor blade and cut some new threads in it and spend an hour messing with it! So exciting! I thought about ordering a new one and as much as I love placing an order only for it to say it’s arriving next day before I order it then suddenly changed to a week later after I place the order, I thought I would just go ahead and cut some threads in it myself. Highly recommended.

This is an awesome product. For just a few dollars you have an easy-to-use device that can save money and gallons of water effortlessly. And for people in your household that aren't as ecologically inclined as you, they can just set it to the max setting so it's not like this thing is really a burden on anyone. It's also extremely easy and intuitive to switch between the three settings. Just based on some very rough calculations, every six minutes one of these aerators is set to the lowest setting necessary, an entire five-gallon jug of water is saved! Going with this math, we found that the aerator would pay for itself in a relatively short period of time. Installation is easy. In general, you need no tools but there can be some exceptions. For instance, if your old aerator is ancient and happens to be stuck on the faucet, you would then need a wrench to get it off. (The conventional advice is to first wrap the aerator with a towel so it doesn't get scratched up by your tools.) You can even install this thing on marginally irregular faucets. We had a faucet with an overhanging lip that was way too long, but we managed to screw this in by squeezing the bottom of the aerator and the top of the faucet with a wrench, and then screwing it in normally. The higher settings tend to produce needle-like water that comes out pretty fast. Depending on your preferences, this is either an advantage or a disadvantage. I personally like it. It's rarely inconvenient, and there are a number of situations where it is useful to have the water do this. Now for some drawbacks that in my opinion do not take away from the five-star rating: • On different faucets, the aerator appears to yield different water pressures. (However, on each individual faucet the three settings still yield water pressures which increase or decrease based on the setting.) • On one of our faucets, the aerator makes a high pitched squeal on the lowest setting. This is mildly undesirable, but something we easily live with. • On a very old faucet, this aerator somehow caused a water leak in the faucet itself, and we had to replace the faucet. This faucet was extremely old, so we don't really blame the aerator. • On rare occasions the silver part of the aerator will slip off when you change the setting. It's easy to snap back on however. I've only seen this happen with one of these aerators, and once you realize you shouldn't tug downwards when changing settings, you pretty much stop doing it. I highly recommend this product!

One of my favorite purchases of all time. Pros: This 3-flow aerator is extremely easy to put together as it comes with a little tool that makes it easier to take out older aerators or those that are stuck. The switching mechanism is also very simple; a light twist to the right increases water flow by 0.5 GPM each, starting at 0.5 GPM and maxing at 1.5 GPM. 0.5 GPM flow can be used to save on water-bill or consume less water; 1.0 GPM is the best flow rate for this aerator as the pressure is not too strong and water does not sprinkle everywhere, as compared to 1.5 GPM; and 1.5 GPM flow is the strongest and the pressure at which the water flows is too much for my small bathroom sinks, but otherwise it is perfectly fine. Cons: None, really. I have seen reviews about the twist mechanism (cover) coming off of the aerator, but I have personally not had that problem. It seems that such a problem could be caused if the aerator was attempted to be tightened too much. The way I have set mine up is just tight enough to ensure that water does not leak out from the threads where the washer rests. Overall, this product is fantastic. I highly recommend this if you are looking for a simple and affordable solution to replace your old aerator and save money on your monthly water-bill.

Wonderful product. We should all use these aerators to conserve and save water for the future generations. Not only does this Niagara aerator look good but works perfectly. Has three different water flow settings and very easy to use and install.

What a great idea. Since I "installed" (you unscrew the old mesh thing and include it in an art project and screw the new one on. Simple as.) my 120 litre water tank lasts me a lot longer. I love the way the water is disbursed, especially for doing the dishes. The fact that you can change between three setting is so handy. Just put it on full when filling up a pot. and low to wash your hands. I did the math when I installed them and on the medium setting I now use about 50 percent of what I used to use on full and don't feel it to be a loss at all. The stream is still nice and strong. On the low setting it depends on which sink I use. Maybe because of the pump. One does a good job, the other not so much. Gonna need to tweak around a bit and see if it's an "issue" on my end or one of the faucet water savers is damaged.

I replaced my standard 2.2GPM aerator with the N3610CH. It was very easy to install and took less than one minute. Each of the three flow rate is easy to select, with a small clicking feedback indicating that you have reached the desired setting. The 0.5GPM is enough for light hand washing, although the 1.0GPM is much better for rinsing. I was not expecting this level of quality considering the price. It's still working well after two months. I usually keep it at 1.0GPM for most tasks and switch to 1.5GPM when filling water jugs. This takes longer than it used to, going from 2.2GPM to 1.5GPM is really noticeable. Just keep that limitation in mind when buying. Other than that, the only real problem that I had so far is that on the 0.5GPM setting, a lot of the water jets often merge together when I open the water, I usually need to put it in 1.0GPM to separate the water jets and then go back to the 0.5GPM setting. Maybe the water pressure is borderline of the minimum required at my place. edit: six months later and it still works as good as new. I like it so much that I bought another as a spare, just in case.
