Didnt grow
No matter what we did - 60% of the grass wouldn't grow. It would only grow in small patches in odd places. We even tried using fertilized soil from the big box stores to help, no joy. Very expensive seed for no results. Very Disappointed.

Superb seed - better than the rest!
I am so impressed with this grass! I have used so many other brands to get grass to grow in one section of the yard with no success until this Barenbrug Turf Saver RTF Grass Seed with Yellow Jacket Seed Coating. I didn't even baby the seeds once planted and even forget to water it a few times, but it still grew grass. I will only buy this seed for future grass projects, for sure.

Does not grow. Bad seed.
Brought in extra 3 way blend dirt and laid seed and put peat moss over the seed. Have been watering 2x a day from mid april to end of May. We barely have any sprouts. The only thing I can think of would be bad seed. It shouldnโt take 6 weeks for barely any grass. I will never buy this brand of seed again! Iโd rather buy Scottโs brand a pull the weeds from it later. At least theirs grows after a couple weeks.

Costs more, but in the long run you'll use less because it self-repairs
This was recommended by a friend who'd been in the landscaping business. It's the only fescue that develops rhyzomes so it can fill in its own bare spots. Since I've started using this for spot repairs in my yard, I'm finding much less need to annually overseed, and having fewer bare spots (Haven't gotten the whole yard done yet).

It works well but its not a miracle product
I bought this seed because I wanted a fescue that would be self-repairing. My sprinklers don't hit every part of my lawn perfectly and every year I get large dead spots in 4 locations on my lawn. Last fall I prepped the spots, seeded and top dressed. Watered regularly. Seeds germinated in about a week and was mowing in about 2.5 weeks. A year later, my dead spots are about 75% smaller than they had been every other year at this time, so I'd say it works. But it's not a miracle product. Still need to water, aerate and fertilize. Will buy again. But I'll be mixing in some bluegrass for some wider blades because this stuff is more fine than I expected it to be.

Full germination!
Strong germination! Used high quality peat moss to cover the seeds. Not sure why people have trouble germination with these. Probably not enough water or moisture retention. Or time of yearโฆ I recommend putting seed in water bucket for a week before planting. Drain and mix seeds with high quality fine peat moss and spread. Add a thin layer of peat moss to ensure seeds are covered. Required minor daily watering. Location South Carolina March weather. Could probably not pre germinate with a good coat of peat moss, but doing the bucket pre germinate helps reduce water usage. Photo of germinating after a week planted. Update as of June 7th. Amazing grass. Has been very resilient even after having a tree cut near the growing grass and workers stepping all over it to clean the fallen tree. Beautiful grass! Buying more to finish the rest of the area! Has required less maintenance than the other areas I used sod.
