The Reader Hardcover – Picture Book, October 2, 2012

This was a very cute book. My 8 year old son enjoyed hearing it for bed time. It is cute how it talks of the adventures of a boy & his dog.

I bought this for my daughter who is a 2nd grade teacher. I hoped she would like it and use it in her classroom. And she likes it VERY much! The illustrations are beautiful and the storyline is great. And a big plus is that Amazon included a very detailed lesson plan on the order page! I know the children will enjoy this book immensely. Very good deal!

If you have a beginning reader who is NOT interested in reading, or is not making enough progress in reading, then this is the book to read them.

Great illustrations and a very sweet story that celebrates reading, friendship, and perseverance. This book is a keeper you’ll want to share with others.

This has become one of my favorite picture books. Having participated in a reading program for dogs and children the moment of the child and the dog reading together is a memory my dog and I have been fortunate to share with many children. Thank you Amy Hest for putting these feelings into words. And thank you Lauren Castillo for capturing so exquisitely that same feeling.

This book was great! Nothing can do wrong with a boy and a dog and a book. Amazing and heart felt.
