With us having dogs and birds around, this bait works great. Rolled small bundles of the bait in cellophane wrap and scattered them around in the sheds and barn. They were being eaten the first night and then after about 5 days, they were not being touched anymore. BUT....the rats are gone!!! No fresh sign of them. This is definetly the product to use for getting rid of rats, hands down!! Because it is safe if dogs, birds or cats eat it I can bait without any worry of our pets being sick or killed by accidental ingestion.

Since using this product I have seen the mouse population eliminated; however then the rats took over. Taking the advice of one of your reviewers, I use cling wrap to make up pouches of the stuff to toss down the holes. Before sealing up the pouch, I add a cheapo brand of peanut butter, drizzling it onto the dry kernels. That seems to get the rats to eat it faster.

Seems to be effective. Nice point is this isn’t poison but works by plugging the pests digestive tract up. Much less expensive in this size pack than buying smaller containers. Works on mice and rats. Bye-bye pests.

I can't rate Rat-X because it didn't work... We have a rat problem for the first time in 28 years... the local garden store suggested Rat-X... I ordered two/3-pound bags to get a better price... The rats have eaten 3-pounds and they are still a problem... Rat-X claims the rats that consume the product will dehydrate in 2-3 days and die... that didn't happen... for two weeks they ate every pellet I put in the area and that was a lot... now, the rats are still coming in and they are not eating the pellets... this is a failed solution... obviously, I think I should be refunded since this hasn't worked and I still have 3-pounds that the rats won't eat... a 0/zero rating due to failure...

Rats and mice simply won’t eat this unless they’re on a desert island with nothing else to eat. The manufacturer need to make this more flavorful and palatable to rats. A strong peanut butter flavoring would work. Manufacturer must be lazy not to improve their product. I’d purchase regular if it worked

These pellets will kill them from their insides. So there's no finding dead mice all over the place. Just put them down and let the mice have a feast. They might not eat them the first time but just wait and they 'll consume these pellets.

Rat X has been partially effective for me. The rat population is down some what, but a number of rats won't eat the product. It seems the young ones are more prone to eat it. I really like it that Rat X won't kill other species like owls, hawks or feral cats. Hopefully the manufacturers can make it more edible. Also like it that the dead rats don't smell as much because of the dehydration. I will continue to use to try to keep the population in check.

This is a good product. Safe around pets though I still take precautions. It actually makes a big difference in my home. We live in a rural area where rodents can be a serious problem. The large size bag is more cost effective and convenient.
