For the price, these are the best bite guards you can get. Other brands are as much as 4x per guard, its highway robbery. Its just a soft rubber and some plastic for crying out loud. And for me, any guard that touches my back teeth really encourages me to chew hard in my sleep. Ive had dreams about trying to bite through stuff or chewing really hard gum. My jaw is way less sore with this, and it fits really well

This is the second time I’ve repurchased this product and I would say it’s great!! The 2 pack makes it a great value and I will buy again. My only complaint is that it’s a little bit big and I wish they made more than one size as I have a very small mouth so it makes it a little bit uncomfortable. Super easy to mold. Also what I mainly like about this product is that it really helps keep your back teeth from clenching which has helped my tmj so much!

I've been wearing night guards for years to help with nightly clenching and grinding. I've always used the Dentek guards but thought I would try out this front teeth only guard. I've always dreaded having to fit a new Dentek and sometimes it doesn't go super well. I will say the fitting process for these SmartGaurd guards is really well thought out. The first one went so well that I formed the second as a backup in the same session. I thought things were great. It was a tight comfortable fit and I felt it conformed to my mouth better than any Dentek I had ever used. Until the next morning. I woke up and my lips were really dry because my mouth couldn't close while I slept. But the worst part was how my teeth felt. It felt like someone had spent the night trying to pull my top and bottom teeth out of alignment. They felt bruised and all day I had trouble chewing and even just closing my mouth. It felt like my tope and bottom front teeth were misaligned. The next night I tried my backup guard and while the next morning was a little better the problem was still there. It's been two days since I last wore it and my teeth still feel a little out of whack. I'm not sure why it happened but it may be due to the thick hard bottom plate of this SmartGaurd. It doesn't allow the top and bottom teeth to rest naturally. Also this gaurd is so thick and it wraps around to the top palette so any chance of speaking intelligibly with this guard is gone. As I said above I've been wearing night guards for years and this is the first time I have had to take it out tom simply tell my wife good night. Maybe this is better for people with bigger mouths (I'm a 40 year old male), but it just didn't work for me. I'll be going back to the Dentek or something similar.

This has been the best night guard so far that I have found. I like that it only goes on the front teeth and leaves a gap between the back molars. I clench my teeth really hard so I need my back teeth not to touch. My only issue is that the guard is a bit bulky and my mouth is small. I wish they made a smaller size and with more room for the tongue.

If you’re in a pinch for a bite guard to reduce grinding, clenching, or pressure on the back molars then this is a good short-term solution. I had 8 amalgam fillings replaced and this bite guard helped them heal by reducing contact on the affected teeth. BUT the design is flawed because it’s bulky and stops your tongue from resting in the correct position (the roof of the mouth and behind the front teeth). It forces your tongue to move to the back of the palate and saliva can pool inside the bite guard. Because of this it’s not good long term as it can causing airway issues and make snoring worse. However, it was fairly easy to follow the fitting/adjustment directions, although I had to do it twice to ensure a proper seal. It is made from a stronger material than your average bite guard, so it’s highly unlikely you’ll bite through it. I hope this company makes a new and improved version so that correct tongue posture is restored. If so, I’d continue to buy this product.

I’m a retired dental hygienist that had both sides of TMJ surgery 29 years ago and after paying for many lab made appliances over the years, I find this one satisfactory at a fraction of the cost. I have been using it many months now with no headaches or complaints. I will continue to use this one in particular that does not cover posterior teeth. Love it

This is a compact night guard, easy to shape for a custom fit and it stays in place during the night.

I wanted to try a mouthguard that only molded to the front teeth because my dentist told me that custom made mouthguards with an added tab for the front teeth are the best to prevent the back teeth from clenching. It took me five or six tries of reheating, reshaping, and recooling before I was able to get the mold to fit securely. The top of my mouth and gums were minorly burned after that, but it healed within a few days and didn't hurt, just felt a little rough. My front teeth are sensitive to extreme temperatures, so I had to just bear with it. It wasn't painful but it was definitely uncomfortable. However, I tried the mouthguard for one night, and I didn't like it. I suppose I could've tried it for longer, but I chose not to because I could tell right away that it was changing my bite. Because the front of the mouthguard was so bulky, I had to pull my jaw forward so I could close my mouth while I slept. Sometimes I'd wake up and my mouth would be open a little and I'd be drooling everywhere. When I woke up in the morning, my whole mouth hurt and my jaw ached more than usual. My top front teeth were in pain - I think from the clenching and also my instinct to chew on the rubber because I was trying to keep my mouth closed. I thought maybe I just had to adapt to it, but when I was eating breakfast, I noticed that my front teeth kept hitting because my jaw was too forward and my bottom teeth were jutting out and hitting the top teeth. I didn't want to misalign my jaw anymore, so I decided to stop wearing it.

I have been using this guard for several nights now and it works well. First, I have had this style of guard from a dentist before so I knew what to expect comfort wise. A few years ago my guard broke. The dentist decided to not get this style made and only provife ones that cover all your teeth. I have tried that other style for several years now and my teeth are so sensitive, because they don't prevent the pressure of clenching. Fast forward and I've been looking for an alternative supplier to the dentist and found this smart guard. The guards went on sale for $55 and I thought wouldn't hurt to try since it is a package of 2. The product arrived fast. I read the instructions and got set up quickly to fit one guard. The fitting worked really well and is tight yet comfortable. I did do the fitting a second time to be sure I had it really good. It is very important you follow the instructions and use boiling hot water. Also, make sure to press with your fingers on the front of the guard to mold the front of the teeth well. It is also important to get really good suction on the guard to mold the roof of the mouth. The fit was perfect after and is more comfortable than my original version the dentist provided me. I have slept well with this but newbies to a guard like this- it takes time to adjust. I took a while with my original one, so give it time. I will definitely buy these again when needed. Added bonus is since there is two, I always have a backup. If you suffer from really sensitive teeth due to clenching, try this.

I am happy with this product and It is doing what it’s made for. It took my a couple of attempts to mould it to my mouth though. It’s a little tricky

I have had retainer trays, dental guards from the dentist and OTC molded guards. This is by far the best for clenchers! I used to get horrible migraines, and doctors had no idea what the issue was until the dentist noticed some wear on my teeth. I was fitted with a dental night guard. (Those things are costly and bulky!) From there I had some dental correction, and ended up with invisalign type trays. They held my teeth in place, but didnt help my clenching as much because the trays were far too thin and they still cost a fortune! Then I found this amazing product! It's a little bulky in the front, but does not allow your teeth to touch in the back. The material is similar to traditional dental night guards, but you can mold them yourself. Super simple to pop in and out, and easily cleaned with a toothbrush or polident 3min. I bought mine last November and over a year later I'm still on my first tray. With the price and quality of this product, I'll never look back!!

I literally threw this in the garbage. The orthodic doesn't properly mold to the teeth and won't stay on the teeth. I would not feel safe to try and sleep with this, you could easily choke on it. Very dangerous product.

I expect this to work well as the concept is what I have wanted for years. I do find it comfortable despite normally needed a small mouth guard. I would prefer a place for bottom teeth... feel they slide on the bottom Part and not stay in one spot. So the bottom part of my jaw is shifting around even while awake. Would prefer stability.
