Good product.
This product works well. It fits my CPC 800 perfectly. It come with Velcro tabs for safety backup but it fits very positively, snapping in place. The only negative is that it is a fairly thin film of plastic so keep the original box to keep it stored in. If you left it out it could be torn if miss treated. The box fits nicely. Viewing was fine.

Slight room for improvement but a great accessory for my Nexstar 6/SE
I had tried in vain to find a solar filter for my Nexstar 6/SE for several years, but could only locate 8" filters. Celestron seemed to be perenially out of stock. I really liked the fit of it and think it could work without the included velcro, though I still use them for greatest safety. I wish the cover that was included with my Nexstar fit as snugly (it won't stay in place at all) and I am going to need to find some velcro to hold it on. I would suggest this filter could use one of two possible improvements owing to the fact it is delicate. Either ship it with a fitted case to protect it when not in use, or build it so the telescope cover could fit on it while mounted to the scope. As it is, I had to keep the cardboard it shipped in for storage.

Works well! Allows for great imaging of the Sun!
Works as described and allows for capturing nice views and images of the Sun. Rated 4/5 instead of 5/5 for probably a minor non issue but something that i think should be addressed going forward - the uv film/filter material has some rippling towards the edge. This hasn’t impacted the functionality of the filter as far as I can tell so far, but it just bugs me to see visually. Otherwise no complaints. Ive attached images taken using the following: - celestron 130SLT scope - celestron eclipsmart solar filter - celestron edge 25mm eyepiece - svbony 2x barlow lense - images taken with an iphone 17, handheld - partly cloudy day/sun partially obscured by clouds

Fits Meade LS-8
Bought one even though I have A Meade LS-8. Fit perfectly. Nice and snug don't even need the Velcro. 1/2026

As described
fits well and quality is good. Have to be extra careful handling it since it’s a mylar type of film.

High scatter, low contrast
The solar filter material on this Celestron version scatters light much more than expected. So the Sun appears to have a stronger halo than expected and the image contrast is poorer as a result. Can find sunspots, but there is no detail. The Thousand Oaks solar film material performs much better. I assumed that the Celestron filter used the Thousand Oaks material, but apparently not. Photo shows Celestron result on left and Thousand Oaks Optical on right.
