What does the different colors on the led indicator mean mine is solid red when no battery is and solid green when a battery is placed in the charger

Mine is green until a uncharged or low battery is put in it. When the uncharged battery is put in it turns red. Once the battery is full it turns green. Sounds like yours might be defective.
