Nassau Candy Fruit Slice, Assorted, 5 Pound

Splurged on these since my local Central Market sadly stopped carrying them.For anyone worried about the negative reviews - they likely just were one of the unlucky few that got a bad batch or something.These taste AMAZING, and far exceed any other fruit slice candy as far as quality (and taste obviously). You'll never look at those orange slices you see at gas stations the same way ever again after you try these!!The one big downside of buying this much, is that it's hard as heck to find an expiration date on them. I've tried emailing the company, with no response. So you kinda take a gamble if you're not gonna eat them quickly since it is quite a large container of them (5 pounds worth).

These are classic New York 🍉 fruit slices: plump, fresh and tasty, like those I remember as a child on Staten Island. Forget the other guys. These are the real deal.

It was stale. Opened the bag, and there was a very disagreeable stale soap oder.

This is the 2nd batch I ordered from Amazon. The first batch came direct from Nassau via Amazon fulfillment/warehouses in a double boxed package, and a lot of firm, tasty pieces.This batch came in a bag, with tons of broken pieces, very soft, and as the other reviewer said some were stale. Some pieces even looked to be bitten into, but I think this is due to the pieces being broken off, because I want to hope that partially eaten pieces didn't end up into my batch. Not even sure if I got 5lbs, as we didn't count this second time around.Not too sure why you would remove the fruit slices from the box they came in originally, because I doubt that Nassau sent them out in a bag, which is odd/suspicious-possibly.As for the other reviewer's comments about soapy smell, I'm not sure if I experienced that at all, but I didn't have many of these compared to others in my home, though.Overall hard to recommend getting it from "Mother Bears Candy," so I suggest finding another outlet to get it from.

I was a little leery based on the other reviews, but I've ordered these twice now and both times they came nicely packaged in a white box with wax paper between layers. Received multiple flavors as advertised and definitely the Nassau brand fruit slices, which in my opinion are notably superior to other fruit slices. Will be ordering again!
